In the case of Costco, there is about 1 similar alternative for much of the country, and 2 for some markets. Costco’s business model is pretty well regarded by the large majority of consumers, this isn’t an easily replaceable Bud Light situation. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

And what impact do you think needing to hire employees that cost more would have on inflation for the customers? It’s not like businesses have only just started looking for cheap labor because of recent inflation, they’ve always looked for cheap labor because they’re trying to maximize profits.
