Twitter adopts 'poison pill' to prevent Elon Musk takeover
TimHauck replied to Utilit99's topic in The Geek Club
Here is a good change by Musk. Kudos. -
What is the % cutoff where you would consider something to be “through the roof”?
-
Since you’re the second person to bring this up, I looked up the quote in question. Trump said “crime is through the roof.” This is largely irrelevant to the recent updates, which were to 2021 & 2022 (with 2022’s updates in particular being pretty minor), not 2023, so if anything there’s now a bigger decline in 2023 vs 2022.
-
I assume you’re referring to @RaiderHaters Revenge as “Shannon” here? He’s the one doubting the survey, I’m just saying if he thinks he’s trying to make fun of me, he’s really trying to make fun of you. Actually I have previously stated it has a decent methodology.
-
Who is “they”? Police may have been investigating but I don’t see that the accusers were ever really interested in criminal charges 20 years later when they’re not going to be able to prove it in a criminal trial. Keep in mind one of the accusers said the police were in fact contacted when it happened, they just did not press charges.
-
I don’t think anyone expected criminal charges, was probably past statute of limitations. An internal investigation at the company he worked at did find that “informal complaints were not properly addressed” https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/russell-brand-alleged-inappropriate-behavior-120229677.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly9kdWNrZHVja2dvLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAALd7xuSatVq_7kEWNTOK_2wh7vMByQkSupFTlThZvX8MnD3_vLuG1v4B5UT5A_brBdhWGyZ9KIgWUWE27t_sgXX24VZeK-C-yKK-2gWtRRfSKbou9qHj-5oacLJcF-kO8Y81FP0Bc-es7u-lkSyt6FFU_FM72Hu33tIDPTVv94VF

Megyn Kelly confirms ABC whistleblower was fake. @F1erce, will you admit you were duped?

Megyn Kelly confirms ABC whistleblower was fake, suggests to be skeptical of Walz story

Did I miss Trump getting shot before July 2024?
-
I was somewhat joking. I have no idea if they’d try to assassinate him. But even Trump didn’t come that close to being assassinated until about 8 years after he was first elected
-
I have no idea. But he already pissed off Disney fans, so if they didn’t already try to assassinate him I’m not sure they will in the future
-
@jonnyutah does, and the article @Strike linked implies it as well
-
Still waiting on your thread with the 2023 update to the crime victimization survey
-
Jerry, were you not one of the people saying the fact that Trump has had 2 assassination attempts on him is because he’s Trump? Even if you didn’t say that that seems to be the general sentiment, wouldn’t that suggest a different Republican wouldn’t get the same treatment as Trump? I mean unless it was someone like Mark Robinson or MTG.

Walgreens to close 1200 stores in the next 3 years.

Chilis is actually making a comeback due to the inflation in fast food. -
It’s false that the numbers are “constantly revised for the worse.” Will you admit you were wrong about that?
-
The revised 2022 rate went up by 2% compared to the old 2022 rate, not exactly earth shattering
-
@F1erce definitely did
-
And by “media,” just confirming we’re also including places like the NY Post and Fox News who haven’t picked up this story either.
-
What is your claim here? That the story is actually true? I figured you’d move on to the “Black Insurrectionist is a Democrat plant trying to make conservatives look bad!” claim that I’ve been seeing.
-
I’m not sure what specific Trump comment you’re referring to. If it was about 2023, if 2022 numbers were increased, then the decrease in 2023 would be even larger.
-
This may come as a shock, but this article and the right wing puppets talking about this on x are conveniently leaving out that apparently part of the reason for the % change increase in 2022 is that they also revised the 2021 number DOWN (edit: so you are wrong that they are constantly revised for the worst)

Walgreens themselves closed 200 stores in 2019, after also buying Rite Aid and closing 750 of their stores https://www.cnbc.com/2019/08/06/walgreens-to-close-200-stores-in-us.html
