When was it known? I don’t see that discussed in this thread, and hadn’t seen it specifically called out until watching Breaking Points this morning. I see multiple other right wing influencers that wrote Trump was “shot at,” even the now-edited NY Post article from the OP (which originally stated “two people exchanged gunfire” and Trump wasn’t the target), still says “Authorities have yet to determine if the shooter got off any rounds at the Secret Service agents or at Trump.”

Better tell Libs of Tik Tok, who said Trump was shot at. Also lol at her whining about Facebook taking down Routh’s profile and then Musk does the same thing.

FWIW, Sheriff says Routh never fired any shots. The shots came from the secret service who called it in.

If your argument is that Rufo put a lot more effort into his “story,” I agree. But I think this example does help show the “downfall of mainstream media,” just not for the reason you say. The “downfall of the MSM” is more happening because of the rise of social media, not really because the MSM is awful. People don’t need the news when they can get first hand accounts on social media. Of course now it may be going too far in the opposite direction, as some people will believe everything they read on social media. Kinda crazy that a story of Africans in Dayton eating something that may or not be a cat and almost certainly wasn’t a pet, gets shared by a VP nominee as “evidence” that “they’re eating the pets in Springfield” “has merit”…

For the record, obviously trying to kill Trump is horrible and shouldn’t happen. I just wouldn’t blame the media for it. If people are, they probably shouldn’t be using equally bad “rhetoric.” That is all.
