Tyreek Hill stopped by the police before game

Lol he wasn’t arguing, he was calmly talking and asking non-threatening questions, such as ”how far back do you want me to be?” ”I just want to know what happened” ”is it legal for me to stand here?” You forgot to clarify in your summary that literally before the officer is done saying “one more time, I’m giving you an order to get out of here” Campbell was walking away. I guess it wasn’t really “one more time” then huh? Sounds like you think Darlington should have been handcuffed for twice approaching Scheffler then too, got it.
  3. From first link I posted in the earlier reply to you (April 2022, no mention of Haitians): “There are more openings than there are people right now to go into the workforce” From second link (this week, about Haitians): “We needed a workforce. They are coming in and they are working hard and they want to make money."

You said he had pronouns in his social media profile. Lie. You said you saw the discord screenshots. Lie. And the actual report on the discord posts is that he was anti-trans, try again liar.

You lied about the Georgia shooter having pronouns and a rainbow flag on his social media, and about having seen the discord screenshots. It’s ok you can admit it.

Surprised you’d make another appearance in this thread after multiple confirmed lies
  12. So quoting the Director of workforce development for the greater Springfield partnership is giving my opinionated conclusion, got it.
  13. Well there were more openings than unemployed people, and there were still unemployed people, so unless all those openings were high skill jobs, it would imply that some unemployed people chose not to work, right? I mean, have you seen some of these people being interviewed? I also never said there was nothing bad that has occurred as a result of the influx of Haitians, and have specifically mentioned some of the issues that are actually real. Overall, there’s a decent argument that they’ve been a net positive compared to before they arrived, when population and incomes were declining, and abandoned buildings were increasing.
  14. By “couldn’t,” I meant there were apparently more openings than unemployed people, not they they were jobs the prior residents couldn’t do, at least according to Amy Donahoe, who is the director for workforce development for the Greater Springfield Partnership (as of April 2022) Source - https://www.springfieldnewssun.com/news/60-clark-county-employers-are-looking-to-hire-during-thursday-job-fair/B6PP3RAXXRBG3N5BIMVITSSBPM/ The above link doesn’t even mention Haitians, but Ms Donahoe was also quoted in a recent article about the Haitians, saying “We needed a workforce. They are coming in and they are working hard and they want to make money." Source: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/haitian-immigrants-fueled-springfields-growth-now-us-presidential-debate-2024-09-11/ One other comment from that article I found interesting was about the rent issue. It does show rent prices increasing faster than the national average (I’ve seen conflicting data on that), but actually states the number of vouchers being used is down, which suggests that Haitians aren’t actually using government vouchers for housing specifically. Which if true would be an interesting twist if people complaining about the Haitians being on government assistance and forcing them to get evicted, were themselves on government housing assistance. (For the record I don’t think that should happen and seems to ultimately be due to slumlords, but it would still be a bit hypocritical IMO) Speaking of Haitians being taken advantage of, that could be another reason employers like them. This article is kinda vague but apparently some businesses are being investigated for planning to bring in immigrants without town officials’ knowledge- https://www.springfieldnewssun.com/news/springfield-mayor-investigation-into-businesses-immigration-continues/W4OJQYSNUBF7JCMSD72VVQGNQI/ I also posted the below article in the other thread which I thought gave a good overview of the overall situation from before the recent hysteria, and also talks about labor shortages: https://www.aljazeera.com/features/2023/12/12/how-a-childs-death-caused-an-ohio-city-to-turn-on-its-haitian-community
  15. It says the health care system is “overtaxed,” but the only time the word “crisis” was used in the article was about housing. It also talked about the driving issues. In other words, these are legitimate issues that I’ve talked about. But I still wouldn’t say they’re a net negative for the city which was losing population and income for years prior to the Haitians arriving.
  16. The entire city is drafting a petition? That’s a lot of people involved
  17. Well for starters the majority of Haitians in Springfield are in the country legally

Tyreek Hill stopped by the police before game

Well no, I don’t think standing in a public area or asking a question would fit the legal definition of “opposed”

Tyreek Hill stopped by the police before game

Yes please cite me the law that he broke.

Do you disagree that Scheffler was accused of a much more serious crime?

Tyreek Hill stopped by the police before game

Uh, I’m not the one that brought up Scheffler. I’ll let the official review decide, but no I do not personally think Campbell was legally detained. Just to confirm, you think the cops would have been well within their rights to cuff Darlington as well, correct?
  22. TimHauck

Tyreek Hill stopped by the police before game

Scheffler was being accused of (and basically admitted to, albeit unknowingly) a much more serious crime. HTH

Tyreek Hill stopped by the police before game

No, my point all along has been that I think handcuffing Campbell was the most egregious part of the whole ordeal and that is what the majority of my posts have been about. However, I think that is evidence the cop may be more in the wrong for the Hill situation. I don’t follow golf and didn’t really know who Scheffler was before that incident. I watched some of the coverage about it, and it seems both sides ultimately agreed it was a misunderstanding. I had not watched the Scheffler bodycam footage previously so am in the middle of watching it now, about 20 minutes into the below link. Yes, Scheffler was more calm than Hill (but equally as calm as Campbell), but the officer that was talking to him while he was in the car was more calm as well. Just curious, what do you think officer neck tattoo would have done to Tyreek Hill if he ripped the officer’s pants with his car? Interestingly, and relating back to Campbell, a bystander which I’m pretty sure is Jeff Darlington can be heard approaching the police/Scheffler at least twice, appearing to get much closer to Scheffler than Campbell got to Hill and yet was not handcuffed. @Fireballer probably thinks Darlington should have been handcuffed too. Also worth noting that when Darlington approaches, the police officer actually cites a law and not “it’s none of your business.” So thanks for helping show the differences between Scheffler and Hill’s situations.
  24. If your point is you think the influx of Haitians in Springfield has added “serious negative consequences” then no, I’m not sure I agree as a whole. I’ve actually read a lot about this issue and have been posting in the other thread. As I said there, the main “negative consequence” for the prior residents is that the Haitians have caused a lot of car accidents. And the overall increase in residents (nothing to do with them being a different culture) has caused a need for more housing, even though prices have only increased at about the same rate as the national average. However, prior to the Haitians arriving, the population had been declining. Jobs were brought to the area that the locals couldn’t or didn’t want to fill, which is why the Haitians were brought in. Employers report the Haitians are reliable and hardworking. And even in all of the recent videos of people going there, I have not seen a single person claim the Haitians are committing violent crime against other residents. It’s always either about the car accidents, overflowing trash cans, blaming them for higher rents, or being mad that they’re getting government assistance. Or rumors of them eating cats and wild animals.
