  1. Looks like all but one of these adjectives was correct. Sorry he wasn’t the race you were expecting. and yes, he was a big consumer of anti-LGBTQ rhetoric this guy is like a bingo card for all the GC’s favorite buzzwords, if he was white I might think this profile was fake
  2. This is where you lose me. I agree they have historically been victims of oppression and racism. So when blacks do succeed, they likely had to work harder to do so than their white counterparts. But if they don’t succeed, that doesn’t excuse violent crime.
  3. Again, saying “well there were white slaves too!” (Lol, this reminds of “BUT CHICAGO!!”) is far different than the fact that most black Americans are actually descendants of slaves in the Americas. C’mon, there is no comparison between people being discriminated against because they were Irish, and being bought, sold and treated like cattle. There have been some reparations for Native Americans. Probably not enough though.
  4. No. But the thing about being a minority is, there are less of them. So in general whites are more likely to see other whites. Data “can” be wrong in either direction, but again, the guy quoted in the article clearly believed they were too low. And again, I don’t see a valid argument for why the data would be off moreso for anti-LGBTQ crimes compared to other groups for a 1-year period. I noticed you didn’t respond to me quoting you saying “black disadvantage is a real thing,” and then claiming you never said blacks were at a disadvantage. I look forward to your quibbling over words, if you don’t ignore this like most righties here do when they’re wrong.
  5. But anyway, it was a good movie for kids and will make you want to play MarioKart. But it wasn't successful because of being anti-woke or even "not being woke," it was successful because everyone loves the focking Mario brothers.
  6. We know who the victim is, he’s white (although he could have a small fraction of black in him). I just don’t really get not providing a suspect description to the public if they are still at large, similar to what happened for awhile with the Idaho murders. Although I don’t know if this victim was awake until recently so hopefully we get one soon. Supposedly the main eye witness was 11 though so it’s possible there wasn’t much of a description available.

    Hawaii is on fire

Oh sorry, he was just doing the “wink wink nudge nudge” thing. He said “wildfire” with air quotes. That guy is also likely the source for the blog. I’d believe it, or maybe even moreso believe that it may happen later, but this dude doesn’t seem very believable, and looks like he lives in Canada. If there was smoke (sorry, no pun intended) to this already, I’d think we would have seen confirmation in the 5 days since this guy released that video.

Yeah that’s the random tiktok guy

    Hawaii is on fire

Have you seen the insurance denial claim from somewhere other than some random guy on tiktok saying the fires were planned by the government? That’s all I can find, it was also from 5 days ago.
  10. You didn’t say blacks were at a disadvantage?
  11. I do think removing blocking is consistent with Musk’s “free speech” desires, as probably like 99% of blocks are the result of “legal speech.” This is a fair callout though:
  12. They are. The main “right wing” line in the song is the “minors on an island,” as he’s accusing politicians of being involved in a pedophilia ring (albeit like I said earlier, it’s worded poorly).

    Coronavirus - Doomsday

That’s all the bivalent showed too I believe. There is real data on the effectiveness of the first 2 shots, and 3rd for old people. But not much outside of that.
  14. Did you read the part of the article where it said “rhetoric” was used before the murder?
  15. I guess he means “most of the whites that came here originally were indentured servants,” but even that is debatable and is only referring to prior to the Revolutionary War; as opposed to “most present-day blacks are the descendants of slaves in the Americas,” which is a huge difference. And of course most indentured servants were eventually replaced by African slaves, so even this “argument” shows the disadvantage of blacks vs whites.
  16. Sure, but that’s not the only reason, and you don’t need to add the “law abiding” qualifier, my point was they START OUT disadvantaged, as in, as children before they have a chance to break any laws.
  17. You mean like people wouldn’t do this if the person was under 5 or over 70? Sure, I guess.
  18. Good thing RealTim didn’t say anything about what group the offender is in. Just that anti-LGBTQ rhetoric doesn’t help.
  19. No, just saying that on the whole they are at a disadvantage. Yes, poor people of any race are as well, but for blacks it is more prevalent.
  20. Because they first came here as slaves which ultimately resulted in widespread racism against them for decades following the abolition of slavery, which fortunately seems to be gradually improving. I’m not saying they should get reparations, I’m just saying that’s what got the ball rolling as far as the racism against them.
  21. By “self-made,” you mean some black people are making it harder for other black people that they may have nothing in common with other than the color of their skin? Yes, there’s some of that, but there’s also racism that has been passed down among families. Yes, fortunately most of the true “systemic racism” in the form of government policies racist against blacks no longer exists, but it wasn’t that long ago that it did, so many of the people that instituted those policies could still be racist themselves and then taught their kids to be racist, intentionally or not. Just look at the open racism from several (albeit fortunately not the majority) on this board. So there’s probably still a bit of tossing resumes in the trash if their name is Jamal and that sort of thing going on. There’s also subconscious racism. I’ll give an example that relates to your last point. It’s likely harder for blacks to make friends with strangers of other races for example. One thing that I know has been talked about in here is walking down the street, many people may put their guard up a bit if they pass a black person, afraid they might get mugged. Does it seem reasonable to fear something that happens to a small % of people (sure, albeit higher than a “fraction”)? The data is from the FBI, and again, that guy complaining about it is implying the numbers should be higher, so this is a weird flex from you and Strike. And again, even if the total numbers may not be exact, there would still be consistency when comparing the % change in the different groups.
