  1. another ghoul branching out from previously only whining about the covid vaccine:

Why do we have a vaccine against a virus?

Two things can be true at once. 1) The covid vaccine was not as good as we were first told 2) It was still pretty darn good. Also friendly reminder, if you all are not calling what you get from the vaccine "immunity," then you don't get immunity from being infected either.

They got the J&J vaccine which was only 66% effective in the trials.
  4. Interesting on the adoption angle. Also interesting that that link mentions different numbers for what they made from the movie (albeit it wasn't a ton).
  5. Sorry, submitted his application not filled it out https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Oher

I don’t. But I’d say blatantly misrepresenting studies is worse.
  8. Well we know he ended up going to Ole Miss, as did his high school football coach, who was the one that filled out Oher’s application to attend the private high school. He apparently was already acquaintances with the Tuohy’s, I wouldn’t be surprised if having Oher live with them was his idea.

The effectiveness against infection drops, but it doesn’t drop much for severe disease and death especially in the non-elderly.

Those in poor health and anyone over about 50 would be more accurate. Also about half the country could be considered “in poor health.”
  11. He was already a 5 star recruit on the football team where their kids attended. I do think they were also motivated to recruit him for Ole Miss where they were boosters. Although they said he couldn’t be adopted because he was 18 by that point, not sure but seems believable.

    Coronavirus - Doomsday

Not sure what’s worse, believing junk studies, or just making up your own interpretations of one’s that don’t support your claims.
  13. *CDC, and I have called them out previously
  14. This thread wasn’t supposed to be about the Covid vaccine. It’s about how skepticism about the Covid vaccine has now resulted in skepticism about ALL vaccines, even though many people initially claimed to only be against the Covid vaccine. You can put some of the blame on the CDC, particularly because of the unnecessary recommendation for children to get the Covid vaccine. But most of it is due to grifters pushing their agenda for profit.
  15. Not big enough to generalize against everyone from that race, no.
  16. So you know they were all here illegally, particularly the children?
  17. Why are you blaming it on immigrants and not other people like your family? If they are in public school, I’m not aware of any immunization exceptions for immigrants, except maybe for religious reasons but you don’t need to be an immigrant to claim that.
  18. I bet they’ll still give their dogs heartworm medication since it has ivermectin in it though
  19. No I’m not. My first post in this thread was about how I didn’t believe that he “didn’t make any money from the movie.” All I’m saying is that the Tuohy’s generosity may have been motivated by more than Jesus.
  20. I believe you, but is there a link to him being worth less than $100k now? I hadn’t seen that. Just because they already had money, doesn’t mean it’s “laughable” that they’d be at least partially motivated to make more money. Why write their own book about their experience with him then? They definitely helped him succeed and wanted to do something good, but it’s not laughable that they also may have had other motives (even supporting their alma mater as one possible reason).

    Coronavirus - Doomsday

"More at risk" compared to earlier covid variants supposedly, is that all you were saying? They were not comparing vaccines to natural immunity (edit: or to not being vaccinated)
