Yes, natural immunity works and if you had it before the vaccines were available you probably didn’t need one (which I have always said, and I was always against mandating it). But if you hadn’t been infected yet it was better to be vaccinated first.

This is correct. But big difference between saying you “can” still get it after getting the vax and saying “it did zero to prevent infection.” And of course, reducing infection wasn’t even it’s biggest success, reducing hospitalizations and deaths was.

No I don’t know all the technical definitions behind it, but I believe Omicron was more contagious because it required a lower viral load to get people sick compared to prior strains. Thus, if masks were able to reduce viral load (even a little bit), then they would become even less effective with Omicron.

If you had eyes, you could see that it was much more contagious. Just look at the huge spike in cases even here, but even moreso in countries like Australia and New Zealand that were able to keep cases to a minimum before that. But I’m pretty sure there were studies done proving it was more contagious as well.

Opinion on what? I do think it’s possible they helped slightly in 2020 (supported by one of the only large RCT’s done on masks from Bangladesh), but probably even less effective with Omicron so mask mandates are stupid and I’m a little surprised people are actually instituting them in 2023
