This is misleading because 2013 was coming off high unemployment so there were more jobs to create. You’re also comparing 4 years of Obama vs 3 of Trump. Trump vs Obama’s economy is probably debatable, but there’s no debate that Trump’s economy pre-Covid was better than the current economy. Of course idiots talking in extremes like “Trump’s economy was the best in decades and Biden’s is the worst of the lower classes’ lifetime” isn’t helping people understand that.

I actually have no issue with his comment about them being “most excited about their marriage and children.” I do think that’s probably true for many female college graduates especially at a Catholic college. And most importantly that particular statement doesn’t exclude them from also having a career. But where the “shaming” them for having a career comes in IMO is telling them they’ve been “told diabological lies” and that “homemaker is one of the most important titles in the world.”

You asked if he was referring to “lack of love,” and I said his statement could also be referring to that there IS love just not as much love as is being given by the person. Here is another quote towards the end of his speech, sounds kinda like what you said here: ”Together, we’re capable of building a democracy worthy of our dreams; a future where every — even more of your brothers and sisters can follow their dreams; a boundless future where your legacies lift us up t- — so those who follow; a bigger, brighter future that proves the American Dream is big enough for everyone to succeed.”

That’s closer but still not quite what he said. He said “doesn’t love them back in equal measure.” It could still love them just not as much as they love the country. So partly for that reason, no I don’t really have an issue with him saying that. I don’t have a problem even if he does mean “lack of love.” While race relations in this country are far better than when Biden wasn’t senile, there’s still room to improve. Like I said earlier the main comment in his speech that I had an issue with is him blaming “white supremacy” for “black men dying in the streets.” I’m honestly not quite sure if he’s referring more to gang violence or blacks being unjustly killed by cops. We know blacks being unjustly killed by cops is very rare (but not nonexistent), and I’m not sure how white supremacy would be to blame for gang violence. I of course am on record as saying systemic racism and white privilege exists and contributes to blacks being more likely to be poor. But there is no excuse for murder.

But anyway I don’t see much issue with this comment. Overall his speech seemed fine, albeit a little race-baity. But like Butker speaking at a Catholic school, he was speaking at an all-male HBCU, so that’s not too surprising IMO. The one comment I take issue with is him blaming white supremacy for “black men being killed on the streets.”

And even among Catholics he was saying it was a “necessity.” Like I said when I first brought it up, it’s just another example of why I thought pretty much the whole speech was disingenuous. He tries to pass off his comments as just giving his opinion while simultaneously making comments that suggest his opinion is superior. Edit: Trump’s entire campaign slogan is saying our country wasn’t great, what’s your point?

IMO he did intimidate it is the superior choice, by telling the women that they “had the most diabological lies told to them” right before downplaying possible career goals. As mentioned he did the same thing in other parts of his speech as well such as when he said the TLM was a “necessity for our lives.”

IMO the issue is that he seems to be projecting that his opinion is superior, even if he didn’t come out and say those exact words.
