Larry Bushart is the guy who’s in jail on a $2 million bond because he posted a meme. Story: https://theintercept.com/2025/10/23/charlie-kirk-meme-arrest-tennessee-larry-bushart/ I know many will say “there’s gotta be more to the story,” but It really looks like there isn’t. He’s in jail for posting a meme.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia Thread - Federal Judge halts human smuggling charges trial against Garcia
TimHauck replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
In the post you just linked, you wrote: “the answer is no, margaritas aren't popular there. They had some other drink I hadn't heard of” Which is what I was referencing in this sentence: So are you still saying they gave Abrego Garcia an alcoholic cocktail, or are you saying the “drink you hadn’t heard of” was not alcoholic? If you’re referring to an alcoholic cocktail, based on your own quote you linked to, you actually stated definitively that it happened, not even just that it was possible. For one, as has been my point all along, it’s laughable to suggest they actually gave Abrego Garcia an alcoholic cocktail. Both based on Occam’s razor, but also the multiple pieces of evidence that Senator Van Hollen provided. And as I stated following your post that you linked to, you’d also be calling Bukele a liar as he specifically called the drinks margaritas. -
Not sure how this is getting basically zero press:

I don’t recall you saying you no longer believe he was given a margarita. Or are you referring to when you said it might have been not a margarita but a different type of alcoholic drink (which of course would be more semantics)? If you are saying you don’t believe he was given an alcoholic drink at all, then I can acknowledge my W and move on, because my main point in laughing at you is if you think it’s possible Abrego Garcia was served any sort of alcoholic cocktail. Where you’re arguing semantics is by whining about “I didn’t say it might be customary to serve to prisoners, I said it might be customary in the country in general so that might mean they could serve it to a guy they called a terrorist!” LOL, thanks for the laugh Jerry. -

I think some are fine. But I don’t think we need armies of them. And if we are to believe they know who they are targeting, it seems like you could just have a guy or 2 wait outside their house or work with the super of their apartment building to get them while they’re home rather than making a scene in public. -

I think rents are starting to come down nationally. IMO that’s more due to the softening of the economy than anything, but looks like I correctly predicted that if home prices came down righties would try to proclaim it was because of mass deportations. -

Thanks for confirming any impact on rents/home prices would be localized to where there were the highest concentration of illegals (and that’s taking your word for it that they’re going down) -

Has the US been in any wars since World War II?

Current poll standings: 10 yes, 1 no (I did not vote). Looks like most people agree we can be in a war without an official declaration of war. -

Either: 1) It can be war with Venezuela without an official declaration of war or 2) You don’t think the US has been in a war since WWII You can’t have it both ways, make up your mind. This is not a gotcha attempt according to your own words. -

Thanks for confirming I didn’t call it premature 8 weeks ago, liar. But again, I still feel premature was an accurate word to use anyway. -

Interestingly, apparently Polymarket says killing Maduro would not be a winning bet for Yes. Not sure I’d agree with that, but I’d be willing to agree to how Polymarket defines it. I know @Meglamaniac won’t of course because he thinks we haven’t been in a war since WWII -

Nonetheless, I still agree with premature also, if we can agree that “war” doesn’t require an official declaration of war. Do you agree?
