The taller ones (like 6 inches or so bigger than technically allowed) do actually fit in those. They might stick out but with the way it opens and closes it still closes. Sure, like a foot or so bigger probably wouldn’t fit, but American at least does police those (and people bringing on too many items) in my experience.

Recent flights I’ve been on (American), the flight attendants have been rearranging them. Some of the bins now look something like this:

Probably started when they started charging for checked bags. Regardless, I try to avoid checking bags to save time and avoid the risk of it getting lost. Checking a bag just to save some aggravation of worrying about getting your carryon onboard is silly. Even if the bins fill up, they’ll just check it for you anyway.

Well you got one thing right in this post full of nonsense. Perry was a ticking time bomb. From all the drugs and alcohol he abused for years, even if he wasn’t on them right before he died.

I fly American and am usually group 6 of 9 I think. Haven’t had any issues but I know they have sometimes run out later. The other thing that can happen too is people needing to put their carryon much further back than their seat which could cost about 10-15 minutes if you wait til everyone gets off first.

I’m sure he didn’t try to kill him, but does look like he kicked him on purpose -
LOL if someone doesn’t think it’s an issue. Most of the airlines have made the bins bigger recently so it’s much less of an issue than it used to be, but certainly still is. But mostly just for people that have the last couple boarding groups.

I do this sometimes, but I also prefer window seats and then people sometimes get grumpy if they have to get up, or occasionally will have someone sitting in my seat (I still ask them to move of course but would rather just get there first).

Makes sense. People with status will still board first, so really the only complaint seems to be losing overhead space, but they’re saying they’ll have bigger bins that will fit all bags.
