What’s your solution to reducing the number of mass shootings?

Yeah, good thing no one is suggesting taking away everyone’s guns. Just crazy people’s and maybe not allow further sales of a small minority of the types of guns being sold

Pretty sure there are few righties here that would agree with this, even in hindsight. From what I gather their most popular recommendation would likely be to have kept him institutionalized forever.

Uh, pretty sure the argument behind more strict background checks is that some of those legally obtained firearms would not be legal.

In the last three years, 67% of gun massacres with six or more deaths were with assault weapons, Klarevas' 2020 report said. Well for one you only posted one source that was actually relevant. And like with Covid, I guess you are incapable of understanding nuance here as well. For example, it is also worth noting that the charts depicted “number of incidents,” not number of deaths. Shorten the timeframe to less than 40 years, change the metric to number of deaths and include the Las Vegas shooting and I’d bet the numbers look a lot different.

No I did not. The two main things I'd want people to take away from the covid thread are: 1. Covid is (well really was at this point) a serious disease 2. The vaccines were very effective at reducing deaths Neither of which really have much if anything to do with either questioning or "slobbing the knob" of government agencies.

I wasn't questioning the data, just asking how "mass shooting" is defined. The first link defines it since 2013 as 3 or more fatalities (4 or more before 2013), so is likely heavily weighted towards the low end. Also dates back to 1982 when the prevalence of AR-15's and similar in mass shootings seems to be more recent. And the data doesn't even include the Las Vegas shooting. Further proving my point, the second link talks only about "homicides," not mass shootings.

Honest question: do those laws force the guns they already own to be taken away or do they just restrict future purchases?

-That we should have tested for antibodies first during initial rollouts and prioritized those that had not yet been infected -That during the initial rollouts we should have given more people 1 dose instead of giving people 2 before others got 1 (likely would have reduced myocarditis as well) -That the vaccine shouldn’t have been mandated (although technically the FDA/CDC didn’t do this) -That they should have funded larger studies on masks to name a few
