Should big corporations be allowed to buy single family homes
TimHauck replied to Djgb13's topic in The Geek Club
Did you read my post or watch the video? None of this is in disagreement with it. It’s a concern, but it’s not a large share of the overall market. The video cites that about 25% of purchases in recent years have been made by investors. But half of those are from mom and pop investors that own between 3 and 9 properties. Only 9% of that 25% (2% of total purchases) are by institutions with over 1,000 properties. -
Should big corporations be allowed to buy single family homes
TimHauck replied to Djgb13's topic in The Geek Club
Another interesting video here: TL/DW, there is a concern with “Wall Street” buying up single family homes, it’s still a small part of the overall market for now at least. And “Blackrock” isn’t really a player in buying up single family homes (although they are involved in building new rental communities), although a different company called Blackstone is. So digby wrong again, but more of a name mixup and not nearly as dumb as his usual takes. @Frozenbeernuts and @shorepatrol take the cake for dumbest takes in this thread for their claims that bitcoin will help the housing market or that corporations are happy to throw away $25K+ if they can’t rent out the houses for a year after buying them. -

Digby disagrees

Same dude that claimed he was going to “end” Bill Gates which digby / @Stryker Ryker believed (still waiting). Now he’s going to “end” Taylor Swift apparently

I went to school with the dude that won this

Not every country. Not saying it was the masks, but Australia and New Zealand did a good job keeping Covid out until Omicron hit.
-
I’ll take that as a no you don’t have any proof except for randos on x/twitter scouring literally the entire world for obituaries often times without proof they were even vaxxed
-
Link to data showing higher mortality rates in vaccinated compared to unvaccinated?
-
I mostly just can’t wait until you start blaming it on “VAIDS”
-
The non vaxxers that died in 2021 disagree with you

Also sounds like the vaping thing didn’t go away due to Covid anyway, but rather because cases actually declined after peaking in September https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6903e2.htm?s_cid=mm6903e2_w edit: note that this report was written on January 17, 2020 so before Covid madness
-
Sounds like you should be thanking Covid for taking attention away from people dying due to vaping

First US case was confirmed January 21. And China didn’t even first report it until December 31. https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/first-confirmed-case-of-coronavirus-found-in-us-washington-state My February comment was later than the first reports, but that was about when more people in the US started noticing it.

Link? And I’m not saying trust the government. I’m saying trust your eyes. Even if you say Covid was only deadly for old people, it absolutely ravaged nursing homes. If covid was here in September 2019 we would have known about it before January 2020.
-
That article is paywalled but I googled “lung illness linked to vaping” and there are articles from as early as September 6, 2019. If you’re trying to say those were Covid you’re more dumb than I thought.
-
Not in the US. CNN’s first article for example was on January 6th 2020, the Wuhan market didn’t even close until January 1, and on January 5th China was claiming there had only been 59 cases (obviously a lie). And again, that was a real pandemic as much as you idiots want to deny it. That’s the reason it resulted in a lot of mail in ballots 10 months later.

Oh so digby lied? Shocker
-
That happened in a study that ended in 2019? Dumbass

Where is Jesus when you need him

Dowd is a proven fraud. He claimed an increase in cancer in data through 2019 was from Covid vaccines.
-
Standing up to them for what exactly? Not giving him money?

Late January. Even the Covid thread here was started on 1/21 and @Voltaire has said he was surprised cdub knew about it so early. Talking about when it made the news, not when it first existed.
