They could have just told her to leave, which apparently one guy did just before a different one told her to get out. I’m sure people here will say, “no, she needs to be prosecuted for being un-American!!!” but from what I’m seeing DHS has been dropping a lot of these charges when they’re trying to prosecute people for minor stuff

Thanks for confirming it wasn’t a traffic stop so your links are irrelevant

Lol at “in Good’s neighborhood.” This guy was arrested 14 miles away from where Good was shot. And it wasn’t even in Minneapolis city limits.

Please provide a verified source for this claim or admit you’re a liar.

My understanding is DHS is not authorized to make routine traffic stops, so they would not be able to stop her simply for illegally parking in the street. I know the claim is she was “impeding an investigation,” but I don’t think that’s considered a “traffic stop.” That’s why I was asking about if they were actually looking for specific illegals on that street. If not, a good lawyer might be able to argue that there wasn’t really an “investigation” going on.

Many people don’t like their current in-laws, I’m sure many more don’t like their “former” in-laws
  10. I’ve seen it stated here (without evidence of course) that the mass deportations will solve the housing affordability crisis. I don’t understand how people can actually think this with a straight face. I’ve acknowledged that illegal immigration surely had some localized impacts on home prices & rents, but it’s mainly going to be at the lowest price levels, and of course only in areas where the illegals are actually going to (yet in 2020-2022 prices went up pretty much everywhere). More competition for cheap apartments in higher-crime areas isn’t going to lead to suburban homes costing $750K+. Here is some data with more reasons it’s likely not illegal immigration driving increased housing costs on a national basis: https://www.jchs.harvard.edu/blog/role-recent-immigrant-surge-housing-costs The surge in housing prices was driven by the pandemic in 2020, when immigration was at its lowest levels. And actually cooled down in 2023, despite the continued surge in immigration. And in 2024, several cities with large illegal immigrant populations, such as Houston and Tampa, saw no essentially increase or in the case of Tampa, a decline in home prices. https://www.fastcompany.com/91279086/housing-market-shift-where-home-prices-are-starting-to-fall IMO, if home prices come down in the next few years, it’s going to be driven by increases in unemployment. Of course I know if that happens people will claim it was because of mass deportations. But sticking to the present, I’m curious to see if anyone has any actual data to back up the claim that illegal immigration is a major factor in national home prices.
  11. Darn I was almost going to put in my earlier post that you’d probably make some quip about a gaming chatroom. But yes, you did post a false tweet. It was not the metros with the largest populations of illegal immigrants, it was the metros with the largest populations of total people. And of course that discussion was about whether deportations are causing prices to come down, you’ve now changed the subject to did the initial influx in illegal immigrants cause them to go up in the first place. There’s some argument for that, particularly in areas with a significant % of illegals as a share of their total population (of which NYC is not one). But implying that deportations are causing significant price declines in areas where median home prices are $1.5 million is laughable.
  12. Thanks for confirming illegals didn’t drive up prices to buy a house!

I’m honestly curious about this. I’m sure there are some targeted operations in the general area, but I’ve seen numerous videos of about a dozen ICE/CBP dudes just walking down streets. If that is what was occurring in Good’s neighborhood then I understand people being upset about it.
  15. 5% of people, more likely to have larger household sizes and thus taking up less than 5% of the total housing stock, paying rent (not buying except in rare instances) largely in the bottom 10-20% price bracket is going to have very little impact on purchase prices. And deportations of a small % of that 5% is certainly going to have even less of an impact on if prices are declining.
  16. So in the NYC metro 1 million would be about 5% of the total population. Dang have they all been deported already? Because that’s the only way they might have a significant impact on rents overall (and still probably not sale prices).
  17. He’ll probably come in now to whine about “SDS” or something without addressing the fact that he posted a blatantly false tweet. Not to mention I don’t think home price declines are something to really celebrate if they are happening. It will not he good for the economy overall.

Were there actually specific targets of DHS in this particular neighborhood? If not, it’s a stretch IMO to call that an “investigation,” although I know the sheep would say DHS is performing an “investigation” 24/7
