I’m not sure why you don’t see the relevance to DOGE in bringing up the defense budget. I criticized DOGE for underdelivering compared to their goals, even according to their own numbers. You said, “so, any savings is good!” Sure, whatever. But “savings” are kinda pointless when additional waste is being added at the same time (such as in the defense budget).

Musk is a Genius and great businessman. But in terms of DOGE, he overpromised and under-delivered.

Thats literally what DOGE is claiming, so that’s what it is at best. But they’ve already been caught inflating their estimates previously. https://www.doge.gov/savings Looks like they’ve recently increased it from $160B to $175B. That gets him up to 8.75%

So, at best he got to about 8% of his stated goal of saving $2 trillion, if his numbers are to be believed which they probably aren’t. Edit: We’re even already past 8% of Trump’s term if people want to make that argument, but you’d think the low-hanging fruit would have been easiest to find in the beginning. Sounds like continuation of typical government efficiency

Also @jonnyutah, the point remains, if they’re doing a lot of “catching” people at scheduled meetings, they’re going to be catching a lot of people that aren’t violent criminals. I get the opinion of people that don’t care and just want all the illegals gone, but one has to wonder if they’re even catching that many of the actual violent criminals.
