I was reading a little bit about this, and it seems a lot of workers that can be argued work in slave-like conditions are actually here legally, through the H-2A program. So for one, those ones aren’t going to get deported. But also just last week Trump proposed reducing the wage that workers need to be paid through this program. If the first and third statements are true, the second isn’t. If they live like animals and work in slave conditions, no American would willingly do the same jobs or live in the same conditions, so the illegals aren’t taking those things from Americans.
