Looks like Fox News did actually cover that murder. The NY Post it appears did not.

I doubt it is the end of the story -

“Hey guys, how do we top raiding street vendors outside of Home Depot?” “How about putting a few hundred skilled Koreans in chains?” -

Will be interesting to see how this plays out on multiple fronts. I watched the press conference and they claim this was a months-long investigation so hopefully law enforcement had their ducks in a row. But some are claiming that most of those detained were on visas, but possibly a visa meant for “training.” My understanding is they weren’t actually working at the plant, they were building the plant. And it of course is a battery plant so it’s not just throwing up some drywall. Regardless, will be interesting to see if anything happens with other South Korean companies investing in US manufacturing. -
I’ve never denied that blacks commit a disproportionate amount of violent crime. All I’ve said is that doesn’t mean you should stereotype all blacks because of that. And in this particular case, it looks to be more of a mental health issue than a “culture” issue. I also take issue with the “iMaGiNe iF tHe RaCeS wErE ReVeRsEd” BS.

I don’t remember that at all, must not have been a ton of outrage.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia Thread - Hearings on human smuggling case Dec. 8-9

Maybe they should have deported him instead of putting on a sham trial -
Pivot! Pivot! 2018, lol. I shared a recent story where a white guy killed a black guy while calling him racial slurs, no mainstream attention. Also a white mob beating up a black a guy (two different instances), hardly any mainstream attention.

This has been proven false

U.S. Military Boat Strikes and Venezuela Thread
TimHauck replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
Even Republican congressmen are saying it wasn’t Tren de Aragua (and not sure why this guy is tweeting in Spanish, we speak English here in America goddammit!) From the United States Congress, I can confirm that we have sunk a vessel of the Cartel of the Suns coming from #Venezuela that was transporting illicit drugs. This is going swimmingly. We continue. -

Definitely looks like the boat was heading for Trinidad, not the US. As Rubio initially admitted. -

He was charged with smuggling, not trafficking. The judge made sure to point out that there’s a significant difference between the two -

The government doesn’t think so either -
You’re the one that brought up “the coddling of criminals,” which is pretty much the same conversation as being okay with murdering drug traffickers.

RFK Jr. is embarrassing himself before Congress
TimHauck replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Pretty much, but it can be argued it probably didn’t need to be delayed. Technically Pfizer did not receive Operation Warp Speed funding, but they did get a purchase order in July 2020 for 100 million doses. -

Lots of wrong here. The vaccine was effective against infection prior to Omicron. Not sure wtf he’s talking about about animal studies not showing it. Biden never said he wouldn’t take the vaccine. In fact in September 2020 Biden said “If I could get a vaccine tomorrow, I’d do it. If it cost me the election I would do it.” He may be thinking of Harris, but even she didn’t say that, she said she wouldn’t take it because Trump told her it was safe, she said she’d take it as long as doctors told her it was safe. Not mentioned in your post but RFK saying he doesn’t know if the vaccine saved any lives is laughable. Sure, we don’t know the exact number, but there are piles of studies showing their effectiveness at preventing deaths. -

I can’t seem to find my “actual election interference” thread (recent searches seem to only return results from the past couple years), but it was based on this article talking about how Dr Eric Topol led a campaign to get it delayed: https://www.technologyreview.com/2020/10/19/1010646/campaign-stop-covid-19-vaccine-trump-election-day/ Notably, it was delayed due to changes from the FDA, not Pfizer, so any claim that Pfizer “sat on” the results is incorrect. Here Dr. Vinay Prasad (now the FDA’s top vaccine regulator who was temporarily cancelled by Laura Loomer and forced to resign but then was brought back) explained the specifics of how it was done by tripling the number of events required to halt the trial (starts at 6:58). So because of RFK being antivax is why I thought it was such a big story when Prasad was thought to be forced out. He was one of the few people that had the correct take on the covid vax - it was very effective, even against infection prior to Omicron (which he notes later in that video), but we didn’t have good evidence for endless boosters or the vax in kids, and the myocarditis risk was real. One other tidbit from that video that I like to call out is the chart shown at 6:25, which debunks the claim that “Democrats didn’t want the vaccine in 2020!” - even in 2020, Democrats were always more likely than Republicans to want to take the vaccine. -

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by this take from the folks who think trafficking drugs from Venezuela to Trinidad should be punishable by death

Holy sh1t he just did that right in front of a bunch of other people? Obviously he deserves the chair now, but I’m not really buying the “he was a career criminal that should have still been in jail if not for Democrat policies!” argument. Most of his prior crimes were not terribly serious, and he had already served 5+ years for one of the serious ones. His only arrest in the last 3 years was for “misuse of 911,” where he apparently claimed someone had given him “man-made material that was controlling his actions.” And the PD’s “crisis response team” interacted with him 3 times in 2024. So, sounds like the discussion should be about mental health. But of course the usual suspects here and elsewhere will make it about race and Democrats bad.

No they weren’t. They really believed what they were saying. I’m sure @TBayXXXVII in particular will come in here and claim I was arguing something completely different than what I actually was arguing though.
