I can’t speak for the medical community, but while they probably wouldn’t “encourage” it like some believe the community does for trans surgeries, I don’t think they would stop it. I’d look at it similar to a non-trans woman getting a breast reduction. edit: but please note that my prior posts in this convo said nothing about medically transitioning.

I do still laugh every time I think of you suggesting that it was possible Van Hollen and Abrego Garcia were actually drinking margaritas, so thanks for that. “Something, anything” like the complete devastation of the area? Occam’s razor very obviously says that the reason Israel won’t even let people (including other western Journalists also) take pictures (or in cases like this not go at all) while flying over Gaza is because they don’t want people to see what it looks like.

On the name change form it said identifies as a female. There are also some writings from the shooter talking about it. But there is no indication that there was any medical transitioning that took place.

I literally said it would be a good idea for them have therapy initially. But I think there can be a point that they “graduate” from it, even if they don’t stop being trans.

I never said therapy wouldn’t help people or that at least some trans folks shouldn’t get therapy. My question is moreso: what would the end goal of the therapy be? I assume most here would say something along the lines of “for them to stop pretending they’re the opposite sex.” But I’m not sure that’s the correct answer. I agree there’s a social contagion factor. So yes, I think it’d be a good idea for everyone experiencing gender dysphoria to see a therapist when they first start having those feelings. And most likely some would realize they’re not actually trans. But that’s not always going to be the case. So for example, would you say someone that’s had gender dysphoria for 10+ years and is 25+ years old, and has no other “underlying issue,” should still see a therapist about the gender dysphoria? I’d say no.

I’m not talking about when you’re actually talking to someone that’s gay. I’m talking about if you’re talking to someone that’s not gay. If you call someone gay, that’s not actually gay, aren’t you doing so as an insult?

I don’t know exactly what therapists do. Can you provide an example of how you think the conversation between a tranny and a therapist might go?

Well I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t “treat” someone with depression by saying they’re not actually depressed.
