Did I ever say that journalists based in Gaza weren’t biased? I’ve mostly just said that they’re the only ones allowed to be there other than on Israel-sponsored propaganda tours, so they’re really the only accounting we have of what’s going on. I’ve specifically said that if Israel allowed western journalists in there freely that maybe we’d have a clearer picture of what’s happening. But Occam’s razor tells us that Israel doesn’t want the world to see what’s happening from people other than Palestinian journalists that they can just kill and say they were Hamas. Of course it should go without saying, but it probably needs to be said for you, that even if they are biased, that doesn’t mean they’re Hamas or that it’s okay to kill them.

I’d still say people are conflating the arguments. I think it went something like this: 1. A bunch of people (on both sides) say they miss the old decor, but no real “outrage” initially (apparently some of the changes started a few months ago) 2. A bunch of conservatives in particular say that taking the white guy off the logo and changing some of the stuff on the walls was woke 3. Some other conservatives say that’s dumb, I don’t really like it but it’s not woke 4. Some of the people from point #2, determined to prove themselves right, scour the Cracker Barrel website and local charities to dig up that they support inclusion, have sponsored a pride event, and have painted some rocking chairs the color of the rainbow (ah!!), then say, see, that means changing the logo really was woke!!! They may have done other “woke” things, but the majority of the backlash is because of the logo and rebrand, which is not woke.

It’s funny that almost all of the people on Fox News etc that I’ve seen complain about the logo have said that they’ve never eaten at a Cracker Barrel. So somehow Cracker Barrel is turning their backs on straight white folk, yet they haven’t managed to get many of them to eat there in the past. Sounds like the rebrand was the right idea.

She could have also done it knowingly but legally. I don’t know the exact laws, the screenshots I’ve seen specify it must be a primary residence for “at least one year.” And I think primary residence just means 183 days. If the closings were 2 weeks apart, both properties could have been her primary residence for the first year of owning them.

You’re conflating the arguments. There are a few that have zeroed in on “woke” actions from the past, but the majority of the outrage is calling the recent actual rebrand woke. It’s not.

So what made her a DEI hire?
