So glad that you and everyone else are safe there and far. I’m still scratching my brain over this one and the severity of the impact it caused after landfall as it moved north. It’s hopefully an anomaly that won’t happen again anytime soon. They call them hundred year storms. Le5s hope so. This is the worst one I have ever seen. If you want to donate, please avoid Red Cross. Find other charities that the donations go to towards this catastrophe and isn’t shared by the rest of the worlds. I’m not saying Red Cross is bad, they are incredibly good. And a great service, but focus directly on those in need here at home.

Where do I start…you need some education and history of floods. You should start with this book. “ The Great Flood Of 1927” The first hundred pages are getting to know who’s who. Which is of importance. One learns a lot from this book. It’s not a right or left thing. It’s an accurately defined by our history of the Mississippi River, then and now. Enjoy.

Couldn’t agree more. The lessons learned from Katrina are the models that should have been learned, but unfortunately, stupidity and ignorance repeats itself In my opinion, and this is the oldest story in the world.

You didn’t go through the nightmare of Katrina. You’ve never lived or experienced anything like this. I’m sure you will blame it on Bush. No one, and I say no one on either side of the aisle handled the beginning well. And the aftermath was dominated by politicians, bureaucrats, and the saddest of all, FEMA (Fawk Every Man Alive). I had my FEMA license for twenty three years that allowed me to handle any all FEMA claims anywhere in the country.

I don’t know as much as I should as I had an older model IPad, and it crapped out. If this has been brought up, sorry, but how is this catastrophe going affect the election for those that may have no electricity and no way to travel to get to cast their votes? I guess what I’m asking, which candidate does this help/hurt most.
