    Horror Movies Tonight

I just sat down for the day and found Phantasm4. Looks like a lovely movie. I had to stop it in the beginning. Indoor mausoleums being one. They scare the living fawking sh!ot out of me, I went to see my aunt who committed suicide years prior. Walking down the hallway slowly, I was reading dates of birth and death. Trying to find one that my DOB, I found one and almost next to it was someone who passed on that day. All of a sudden I heard a whisper coming from behind me. I froze for about three seconds and did a 180. It was an.elderly woman who fell with flowers in her hand who needed help getting up. I did and then got out of there as quickly I could. I’ve been to another one. Now I’m watching Phantasm IV and it’s mostly indoor mausoleums.

    Trump the "garbage" man, FTW!

Last night I was reading and watching this laughing my ass off. My trash days are Wednesday and Monday. I put the trash can on the street late at night. I put three tens in an envelope and wrote “I always have appreciated y’all’s efforts and dedication. This is a thank you gesture courtesy of a Trump tribute to all garbage men. There will be another message on Monday mornings pick up. Spread the word. Thank you again for all you do.” Then I put money signs around it and taped it to the top. God Bess America.

    Anyone a Dropshipper?

Ha! Not even close. I know you were having fun. I just miss my career so very much. There was no way I could have survived it sitting behind a desk all day every day. I loved being in the field. And you are absolutely right about farmers. The nicest, honest, hard working people out there. My company worked for one of the biggest insurance companies that insured the farmers in the state and also many other southern states. My company was specialized in all vehicles. Including heavy equipment and farm equipment. Mostly for sugar cane farmers. Good times.

OK. Where do I start? I was an independent insurance adjuster. Working for my father’s company that was well known and established and respected. We we weren’t an LLC. We were incorporated. And we made a name for ourselves being a multi-line company. Everyone in the great state of Louisiana in the insurance market knew who he was. We had six offices covering the entire state. It was a very busy great time. And we had offices in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Shreveport, Alexandria. This was started by my father before computers got into the time. We relied on the he basics back then in the late eighties. Polaroid cameras, writing everything by hand. You had to either Mail or fax all reports and depend upon your phone system and get to the goal of receiving the claim from the company by those options then, and do all of our jobs on all three sides. Insured, insurance company, and the adjusters/appraisers being in sync together on all of them. I treated every single person i was sent on ANY claim I ever was assigned. I took pride in my job, all parties involved, and the people I worked with who I got to meet and help in every way my company stood for and did. I have no idea what company you worked for as an adjuster . All I know from your post is you worked commercial property claims. They’re definitely difficult and challenging. Especially when you are scoping and documenting the large structures. It’s extremely time consuming from start to completion. I know. But if you are an independent working and the claim of the property within the policy, you get paid a percentage of that amount for your work. If you work for a company that only pays you a set salary, I understand what you’re saying. The higher and honest amount you write up, makes us as independent adjusters more money.

I’ve been semi retired for five years now. I really miss the days when my work gave me a rush being out in the field and meeting new people and helping them rebuild their lives. I can’t jog anymore or play golf. I’m so desperate to do something different and get out of the house. I’m seriously considering buying a high end Vespa. Just to get out of the house and get lost. I know you had a very dangerous job that had the slow days and the high octane adrenaline filled ones. I can’t imagine your transitioning today.

Death Pool Update: Teri Garr at 79…

I loved her in Mr.Mom,Let It Ride, Young Frankenstein (“you want to roll in the hey) and many more. I now some you don’t believe my celebrity stories. I could give a flying fawk. One Mardi Gras day parade downtown. I was dressed in drag. I was walking with a group and realized I forgot to bring extra. Went the front desk and asked if they had a cigarette machine. She said yes and they are eight dollars a pack. So I asked for a roll of quarters. I’m standing behind this woman and she was frustrated with the machine. And just said “can I help? She turned around and said please. I realized immediately who she is. I told her it’s eight dollars a pack. She said didn’t realize she didn’t have enough. She needed five more quarters so I put them and whamo, she pulled the lever and jackpot. Her and her friends went to the bar. I got Marlboro Lights and walked up to the bar and said “hey Terry, I loved you in Young Frankenstein. Her group loved up laughing and said Cheers!”.
  21. Dayum. I went to my closest one in my neighborhood Saturday for breakfast. Two sausage biscuits, three hash browns, and a large ice coffee caramel frapachino for seventeen and change. And I thought that was a little high. I went back on Sunday after I found out my local snowball stand, but it was closed for the season. So I went to MD and go two large milkshakes, one vanilla and one chocolate. Came out to eight and change. Not to bad. Then I went to gas up at the Racetrack and paid two eighty nine a gallon.
