  1. Odunze... crazy talent as his draft stock reflects. Last week shows he can get it going with the rookie Qb. Expect several more big games. Jennings ...When Deebo / Kittle are back, and Aiyuk is doing his thing, nobody will remember Jennings week 3 flash in the pan.
  2. I sometimes lurk in team forums during games to see what fans are saying while their team is getting destroyed.... Jags fans are full of bitterness right now. Hate the GM, hate the coach, and quite pissed about being stuck with over-paid Lawrence. Their misery is my happiness... and yes, I'm that shallow. go dolphins

    JK Dobbins.. ROS outlook

It's incredible. We might finally have our very first official Achilles Curse of Rb Death breaker!!! Glad for Dobbins too, because he seems like a really cool dude in interviews. Just hope he can keep it going...

    Justin Jefferson

Darnold is certainly leading Comeback Player of the Year. And for the record... I wasn't one of those talking heads downgrading Jefferson. Ranked him #2 OVERALL.
  5. Kimani Vidal has been a healthy-inactive for three weeks... but he's still clogging up my roster. The day I drop him, is the day he blows up. But running mighty low on patience. What the hell Harbaugh? Gus Edwards ypc .... 2.4, 3.3, & 3.0 .?. How is that bum getting carries, yet a hungry rookie who looked great in preseason is healthy-inactive? I just don't get it.

    It is NOT Tua time......

Wow.... that's interesting. Regardless of Qb, the Dolphins main game plan is always - get the ball in Hill's hands (can't blame 'em, it usually works). Hill might not be the top Wr every week for now, but I expect he still gets enough volume to be near the top (last week won't be indicative of the entire season). And my total guess is Tua will be back Week 8 or 9. ETN on the other hand is splitting carries with Tank and could end up losing goal line carries too.... Jags offense looks bad. Team seems to be quitting on their overrated coach, who everyone knows will almost certainly be gone next year. Think I'd take the leap of faith and take that trade. Besides, rather have a good WR than a good RB... they don't miss as many games to injury and don't split carries.

    What sucks about Fantasy Football

Aside from injury luck, and getting lucky drafting players who do succeed... the head-to-head format is inherently stupid luck. How many times have ya finished top 5 in points, only to lose because ya played the top guy that week? By the end of the year, you can pretty much just look at POINTS AGAINST and guess which teams made the playoffs and which didn't, regardless of how many points the teams actually scored. Frustrating. My strategy to mitigate some risk is to avoid drafting the most volatile / injury prone position too early - Rbs. Doesn't guarantee success, but helps. Especially in this day of the pass-happy NFL and with numerous startable Rbs available later in drafts.

    Players you can drop

I was wrong about a few pre-draft predictions... Barkley is better than expected, Achane's usage is higher than assumed, etc. One prediction I nailed - Zeke was not even worthy of a roster spot. It's early so I could still be proven wrong, but at this point I'm more certain than I was a month ago. I'd drop him if he was stink'n up my bench... not only would it free up a roster spot for a lotto pick, but also waste a roster spot of whichever poor sucker picks him up, and god forbid ever starts him. I disagree with Ray... I don't think it matters if Cowboys are winning or losing. Their hot-seat coach isn't gonna feed Zeke just for nostalgia. He needs producers and Zeke's 3.3 ypc ain't doing it.

    Players you can drop

Raiders coach said last year, and reiterated again just last week "we want our Rb to get 20+ carries." That's hard to do when the o-line isn't blocking, they don't convert 3rd downs, and the defense can't get opponents off the field and score gets out of hand. Antonio Pierce wants the Raiders to be run-oriented team, but so far it's been a perfect storm of everything going wrong. I'm still holding out hope for Z. White.

    Anthony Richardson

That Pierce bomb was cool, but watch the tape... it was chuck-it-up and pray. Followed it up with a deep Td pass to Dulin which actually required some touch. Also delivered a couple nice strikes over the middle... some while on the run. Nice. Then there were SEVERAL throws where the ball went sailing 5 yards over the receiver's head, like what happened on the INT. And he threw often into heavy coverage, and got lucky a few of them weren't picked off as well. Week 1: 50% completion rate Week 2: 47.4% completion rate 3 Tds / 4 Ints Jekyll & Hyde He's got an arm cannon, but just like in college - his accuracy is terrible. If he wasn't such a prolific runner, he probably wouldn't even be a back-up.
  13. Supertramp All the good songs you remember were sung by Roger Hodgson. The one's that sucked were by other band members.
  14. Puka getting hurt really put a dent in ya. But... it ain't over. Ya still have Taylor who's bound to have some monster games and Kelce will ball-out some weeks (just not as consistently as years past). Prescott and Cooper are still solid. And Puka will be back eventually. Give 'em hell HTH ! After you win the Championship and start thinking about next year... consider Wr-heavy. Easy peasy and stress-free. Fewer injuries / disappointments.

    Pacheco Update: Fractured Fibula

Clyde has "PTSD" from Vietnam or something.
  16. GobbleDog

    What's happening with Kelce?

Might be some truth to that, and could partly explain his production drastically decreasing down the stretch last year... from week 8 til end of regular season, never broke 100 rec yds and scored just 1 Td. Though did well in the playoffs. His 10.8 yds per reception last year.... lowest of his career. In two games this year... the average is 9.8 yds. About to turn 35 with a whole lot of millage and declining stats... definitely cause for concern.

    Drafted dissapointments so far 2024

'23 Stafford 15 gms... 3,965 yds, 24 Td, 11 Ints Terrible. Starts every season injured (hammy this year), now Puka out and o-line decimated. Other back-up is Cousins. Still holding out hope, but Wk 1 looked like the Achilles may still be a huge problem. Now I'm carrying 3 Qbs. Not exactly the start I was hoping fer.

    Drafted dissapointments so far 2024

0.5 pt per COMPLETION, bonus pts for 300+ passing yards, 6 pt passing Tds ... projecting Tua with 35+ Tds and I can get him in the 9th+ rounds.?. SIGN ME UP. Took Stafford off waivers this morning. Other than that... Spears. Didn't even like him when I drafted him in the 8th. Like him even less after Wk 1.

    J. Whittington (Now that Puka on IR)

I don't know anything about Whittington other than 6th rd pick out of Texas... but the Rams are a hot mess right now. Most of their starting o-lineman are either questionable or on IR, not to mention Higbee still out... and now of course Puka. Defense also has injuries. Stafford's hammy didn't seem to bother him last week, but ya never know with him. Might think a team in that situation (with solid rushers) would want to run the ball, kill the clock, and keep the score close. Kupp of course gets force-fed like always, but outside of him... I'd be nervous starting any receivers.

    Miami Dolphins running backs

If both Mostert and Achane are out, I think Wilson is the one to own. Lock for all early down and goal line work... possibly a reception or two. Unlikely they give Wright that many touches in his NFL debut.

    Flying under the Radar

None were 1 yd Tds, but still good game. He looked way more spry than I expected. Everyone who touted "Eagles o-line will make Saquon great again"... man were they were right week 1.Totally untouched on most of those monster runs. We'll see if that continues... along with Barkley's health.

    ATTN: Gobbledog

I didn't think so either, despite the coach saying in the off-season "we want to get Tank more involved." But jeesh... 12 carries for Etienne (3.6 ypc) and 12 for Tank (6.1 ypc). Didn't help Etienne either fumbling the game away in the 3rd quarter. Jags coach is on the hot-seat with no loyalty to Urban Meyer's Etienne. Might see some changes if the fumbling and inefficiency continue.

2024 NFL Draft Profile - QB Caleb Williams

Peyton Manning was recently interviewed by a fantasy football "expert" talking about some of his greatest games. Manning told a story about a time early in his career when he didn't know much about fantasy football and they won 10-7 on a last second field goal. Next week a fan asked "What happened?" Manning said "Great game, right? Worked for every yard and scraped out a victory!" The fan replied "Yeah, but you didn't throw any Tds.?." Manning said "Apparently your goals and my goals aren't exactly the same."
