Pete Hegseth texted war plans to a reporter by accident
GobbleDog replied to Ron_Artest's topic in The Geek Club
https://www.npr.org/2025/03/27/nx-s1-5341552/signal-leak-military-double-standard "What typically happens in a spillage as serious as this is they're immediately fired," says Kevin Carroll, who served 30 years in the Army, followed by the CIA and then the Department of Homeland Security in the first Trump administration. He says there's no doubt what would have happened to an active-duty officer who had participated in the Signal chat. "They're processed for being kicked out of the military, and they're referred for criminal prosecution," he says. A lawyer himself, Carroll has defended troops who accidentally leaked information. "I've defended spillage cases where people were going to be put out of the military or people were going to be turned out of their job within the military for violations that are just the smallest fraction of what just occurred," Carroll said. Military officers who have sent battlefield assessments that were several years old have lost their jobs for passing the information over an unsecured channel, Carroll said. He defended a junior Marine Corps officer in court who sent urgent, potentially lifesaving information to fellow officers in Afghanistan from a non-classified email server and was relieved of duty. Carroll says, for troops, seeing leadership share attack plans in advance on Signal but so far suffer no consequences is toxic to morale. That double standard is so common, he adds, that there's a phrase for it in the military: "different spanks for different ranks." -

They let off Hillary, Trump, and Biden. I'm not loyal to any party. Only want justice. Always thought people in authority (police, judges, and politicians) should be held to higher standards, not lower as seems to be the norm. Heck, I'd settle for equal standards at this point. -

Tampon Tim Walz signed bills putting tampons in boy’s bathrooms

Already established you're anti-Snopes. Fine. So... ya gonna provide the link that disproves them or not? Tampon dispensers in every boy bathroom in Minnesota. Let's see it. -
I don't know who the "liberals" are, despite seeing that label floated around this forum. Most people I know have both liberal and conservative views. I think most people are that way. FoxNews extremists live in this "us vs them" world, which isn't reality. So how many liberal views does one need to qualify as an ***official liberal***, or is just disliking Trump all it takes? I voted for Trump his first campaign, but not his last two. I'm in favor of total gun-control, yet staunchly anti-immigration. I applauded Trump reducing corporate taxes, but think his foreign policies are pathetic. I could go on and on... am I a liberal?

Don't care the site's name as long as they provide an unbiased and researched answer, which they did. But you call yourself a "Pro"... so provide a link showing it's wrong. You can do that, right? Or was just more BS by FoxNews created for their gullible audience? -

Trump's objection to his Colorado Statehouse Portrait
GobbleDog replied to Engorgeous George's topic in The Geek Club
Imagine if you were President and there was a bad portrait of you in a Colorado statehouse... how would you react? Take the high-road and deal with actual important government issues, or go on social media and rant about it? Read Trump's posts about celebrities who've criticized him over the years - immediately retaliates calling them "loser, washed up, cheap, over-rated, second rate, has-been, the worst, unfunny, etc." You'd think those statements were the ravings of an insecure adolescent. Nope, it's the President. -

Last year in PPR, Diggs ranked 44th overall (late 3rd) or Wr 21. That was with high-flying Houston and Dell hurt to start the year. Without looking.... I'd guess about mid 5th this year. And the answer is per Fantasy Pros: 101st overall (mid 8th), or Wr 44. A bit later than I figured.
-
Must've been thinking of Polk. Now that I'm looking at Patriots wr depth... rather barren. Douglas, Boutte, Polk. Perhaps Diggs gets more volume than I figured.
-
Diggs played 53% slot with Houston, which made sense with Collins going deep. Even his last year in Buffalo, Diggs was terrible at the long-ball. Now with Nabers, he's definitely slot... which usually isn't great for fantasy barring massive volume, which I doubt Diggs sees.

Richardson STUNNED me (and I'm a gator fan). I was surprised he even went pro that year, let alone drafted in the 1st round, let alone taken 4th overall. His stats were abysmal. Didn't know Milroe's passing stats weren't all that. Guess that explains it. Still, we're not talking 4th overall like Richardson - that was bananas.
-
2023 ... Arizona traded their 3rd and 105th overall picks for Houston's 12th and 33rd. Houston selected LB Will Anderson.
-
Agreed. I'm surprised at the lack of hype for Bama's Jalen Milroe who's only projected late 2nd/early 3rd. Seems like the kind of qb teams usually drool over with the running/passing skills - a Jayden Daniels prototype to my eyes. Perhaps the Giants trade down and look for Milroe or Dart in the 2nd round.
-
Interesting, mainly because what it means for the draft ... 1) Titans 2) Browns 3) Giants Cam Ward is going to Tennessee no doubt, but there doesn't seem to be any consensus on whether Browns take Shedeur Sanders.... some mocks say yes, others say no. Difficult to believe they'd really stick with Watson/Pickett, but what do I know. Seems like the Giants wouldn't sign Wilson if they plan on drafting a Qb, but the Falcons did exactly that last year after signing Cousins to multiple years, so maybe they might.

Not "globalists in the UN" (whoever that is), but long standing allies of the US. And not "mad", but even more unlikely to share intelligence than they already were. That's not good. Intelligence sharing is a tool to prevent terrorism. BTW, sarcastic childish responses isn't how intelligent people discuss topics, Johnny. -

It did more than that. US allies were already hesitant to share intelligence because of Trump's first term when he kept leaking classified information. Then came Trump's disturbing behavior in recent months - sympathizing with Putin, attacking allies with tariffs, and threats of annexation. Now this clown show handing of military intelligence. -
Trump says ‘contract’ being drafted on ‘dividing up’ land in Ukraine war 🏆
GobbleDog replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
It's not Putin's fault for ordering Russian troops to invade. Nope, it's "mostly Biden's fault." Give me a break. Ya want to point fingers of being indirectly at fault, fine .... let's start with Bush Jr. who was President when Russia invaded Georgia in '08 taking 20% of their land and still "owns" it - Bush did nothing. How about Obama in '13 when he warned Russia not to cross the "red line" giving Syria chemical weapons - they did, but Obama did nothing. In '14 Russia annexed Crimea in front of the world - Obama did nothing and neither did Europe. What did Trump do about Russian election meddling? Nothing. What was the UK's response to Russia murdering and attempted murders of his political opponents, while in their countries? Nothing. What was the world's response to Russia's repeated global cyberattacks? Nothing. Etc... I guarantee nobody was more surprised to the world's reaction over Ukraine than Putin. -
I think the damage is done - the brand is tarnished not only by Americans, but Europeans as well. The day Trump took office Telsa stock closed at $354.40. Now it's $271.71 - down 23.3%. Sales have tanked in spite of increased EV sales world wide. Investors are also nervous about Trump's tariffs on Canada and Mexico... post-poned again or enacted in April.?. Might not matter if no one is buying.

Trump says ‘contract’ being drafted on ‘dividing up’ land in Ukraine war 🏆
GobbleDog replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
My plan is for the US and EU to massively increase Ukraine support and more Russian sanctions, and make it perfectly clear to Russia they can't win. Obviously not Trump's plan so hopefully the EU alone can provide enough support to keep Ukraine afloat and wait out the depleting Russian military and economy. The Russian military (like their economy) is holding on by shoe-strings.... using donkeys/camels, sending wounded men back to the front on crutches, resorting to North Korean soldiers, and desperately trying to sign new recruits with ever increasing incentives. This a result of meat wave tactics creating nearly one million casualties. Ukraine's counter-offensive in year two was a failure, which some experts say the main problem was Ukraine using NATO tactics with combined arms including ground and AIR. Ukraine attacked with virtually no air support and the results were disastrous. Today Ukraine's air power is significantly increased, but like you said with the Russians so dug in, another counter-offensive might not be so effective. Thus, simply waiting out Russia's depleting military is probably be the only strategy. I don't believe attacking a NATO country in the future is "off the table." Imagine if NATO was attacked tomorrow by Russia. Do you really believe Trump would send in military? Doubtful based on his actions/words, and without US support other NATO members would be much less inclined to fight as well. Trump has minimized the deterrent - as was feared. Trump gets credit for one thing - he's gotten Europe to get off their lazy butts and spend on military realizing they can no longer depend on the US. Unfortunately, it's come a huge cost of US influence. -

Both are murderous dictators who invade sovereign nations. But you don't see a similarity? Oh yeah "only focking buffoons" see that. Nobody knows if Putin will invade a NATO country or not, not even you smart guy. But we should make sure he doesn't by helping Ukraine kick Russia's army back to the stone age. "But the Pentagon Papers, assassination conspiracies, and other crap that has nothing to do with the discussion..." -
