What rounds are Harrison and Kupp going in your draft?
GobbleDog replied to jtztdm's topic in FFToday Board
FFToday Mike from the 8 spot: 1) St. Brown 2) Wilson 3) Kamara 4) D. Smith .................................................. 5) A. Jones 6) D. Johnson 7) K. Murray 8)) Spears 9) Ferguson 10) Brooks ................................................ D. Johnson rather than Najee? Gutsy decision. Give 'em hell Mikey! edit - didn't see Kamara in 3rd. Hmm -

Alright - Mike representing! And we can see the draft results... where? -
Agreed. Going late 4th in 12 team mocks, which seems too low. I've watched Youtube vids of games he played last year - not highlights, just random games of all his touches... like to pretend I know what I'm doing, even though I don't. The word that comes to mind - vision. Jumps off the screen. Patiently waits or follows the right blockers. Which makes him look slow as he's bruising between tackles. But then you see plays where he beats linebackers to the edge... 4.39 speed. I'm no scout, but I was impressed.

Ain't drafted yet, but your estimate is consistent with mocks I've done. And I've done way more than I care to admit. -
Lamar Jackson has played six seasons... the highest any of his Wr's has ever finished... '21 Hollywood Brown - 22nd. Flowers did finish 25th last year (not bad for a rookie), but would that have happened if Andrews hadn't gotten injured? Probably not.
-
Helped a friend with his draft last night... he was also 10th in a 10-teamer redraft. Oddly no Te required, just 3 Wr's and a flex. Whatever. Results: 1) AJ Brown 2) Wilson 3) Metcalf 4) Walker 5) Waddle 6) Richardson ... don't know how Waddle fell that far. 7) Z White 8)) Harris 9) Z Moss 10) Singletary I thought it went really well. 4 stud Wrs and 5 startable Rbs ... Richardson to boot. I left the draft at that point, but told him to get a good backup Qb in the next few rounds... idiot ended up picking Jayden Daniels.
-
I can agree with most of those... not sure on Pitts, but I understand the trepidation. However... Zach Moss Might want to rethink that one. Guess it comes down to how much Chase Brown hype you believe. I don't buy any of it. I foresee Moss as the main ball carrier for the high-scoring Bengals - and if so, look what washed up Mixon did. I want a piece of that and the adp is dirt cheap - thanks to Chase Brown hype.

If Benson is as good as scouts say, he could take the job outright by mid season even if Conner stays healthy. I'll give ya Brooks isn't the most enticing. Supposedly very talented, but not known for receptions and ya wonder how slowly they ease him back from injury. But never know - might come back and blow up with those great running skills that got him drafted so early. More potential upside than Zeke, IMO.

UPDATE: QB J.J. McCarthy Out for the Year - Knee Injury
GobbleDog replied to polecatt's topic in FFToday Board
Carr to Minnesota ? Doesn't make sense. Vikings seemed content to start off bad with Darnold and that brutal schedule. Then hand the reins to McCarthy once the season was lost. So... now Carr since McCarthy is gone? What happens after this year? Darnold is only on a one-year deal, but they'd be stuck paying Carr's ridiculous salary the next two years, and if cut after '25, they'd still have a $29 mil cap hit in '26. I don't get this at all. -
I can't argue the lack of value. Wr 20 last year (1-17). Current adp Wr 13. I expect some improvement, but probably not higher than a Wr 13 finish. At the very least he seems a bit safer than other Wr options in that range. Adams, London, Olave... who would you take?
-
Wait a second... 191 carries for 753 yards and 6 TDs on the ground. 32 catches for 217 yards and a TD in the air. 75.3 + 36 + 32 + 21.7 + 6 = 171 To avoid week 18 comparison when playoff bound-Rbs didn't even play..... 171 / 17 = 10.058 x 16 games = 160.94 Rb 31 weeks 1-17 ppr. Pt/gm ranking 37th. https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/reports/leaders/ppr-rb.php?year=2023&start=1&end=17

Middle Rb guy. 3 Wrs followed by 3 Rbs. After that no set strategy. Murray actually doesn't get as many goal line Tds as you'd expect, despite being known as a "running Qb". Over the past three years, he's had 14 runs inside the five yard line... scored 8. Hurts over the past three years has ran 49 times inside the five, scored 32. To be fair, Murray missed games during that span, but his goal line rate is nowhere near Hurts. It's kinda like Lamar Jackson... the running Qb, but surprisingly not the goal line Qb. So, yes... Barkley is gonna have to score from distance. I don't expect that from Benson/Conner. I wouldn't draft Brooks that early. Zeke seems to typically go rounds 8 or 9 from mocks I've done. Brooks and Benson are usually there with him.
-
I'm still surprised Anthony Richardson went 4th overall. He's a big dude like Milton, though a little faster. Still, his passing stats in college were awful. Didn't think running ability alone would get him drafted that high. Shows what I know.
-
Joe Milton 6'5" 246 lbs
-
Yeah. Coach called him out on it too recently. That's not good.
-
Just think it's more spread out. Zeke's been amazingly durable, but health is still a big concern at his age/millage. And of course the volume/efficiency or lack thereof. I just look at players around Zeke's adp who seem to have more upside... and they aren't all Td dependent. Could be playing at Rb 1 or 2 levels by season's end - Brooks, Benson, Chubb... etc. Roster construction wise my strategy is four Rbs by round 8. I'm usually drafting non-Rbs in 9, 10, 11 ... so I'll miss out on Zeke and those other Rbs regardless. Take my "lotto" picks in 12 - 14. Somebody like McLaughlin, Miller, Estime, etc. whatever. But in every draft I'm walking away with the greatest Rb sleeper this season - Kimani Vidal.

Any decent printable cheat sheets that are free
GobbleDog replied to truebigdog's topic in FFToday Board
God bless the outlaw days of the internet when you could just use a torrent site and download Microsoft Office. But I digress... Espn has a free pdf cheat sheet. https://g.espncdn.com/s/ffldraftkit/24/NFL24_CS_PPR300.pdf?adddata=2024CS_PPR300 It's probably similar to most other sites. I wouldn't want to rely on it to decide between players though. That's what June, July and August are for. -
Volume is king. That's how Zeke finished Rb 7 in '21 despite poor metrics... like White last year as you said. Etienne too. So how much volume will the Cowboys realistically give him? Sounds you think Zeke will get "uncontested volume." I totally disagree, based on all four Rbs getting first-team reps and on what Dowdle himself said last week about their "committee Rb" system. Along with the likelihood Zeke just stinks it up and forces them to rotate Rbs. FFMike projects 187 car, 35 rec, 948 total yds, 7 Tds... seems generous to me, but let's say that's right - would've ranked Rb 29 last year, assuming he stays healthy all year (despite age/millage) and actually meets those projections. So for a potential Rb 29, you're giving up an 8th/9th round pick, letting Zeke clog your bench all year, in hopes of the few games you might need him he's still healthy and scores a fluke Td.?. Think I'd rather spend my late round picks on Lotto tickets with upside potential. I just don't understand the Zeke support, other than pure name-recognition.

What say you---Breece Hall as a top 3 pick this year in a ppr league???
GobbleDog replied to jtztdm's topic in FFToday Board
Interestingly, the Falcons Rbs led the league in total touches... Bijan got 51% of them. By comparison McCaff got 73% and Hall had 68%. Didn't calculate Taylor's because his situation was strange, but by the last few games he was also getting 70%+-. Falcon's new coordinator Zac Robinson is from the Sean McVey coaching tree which typically used Rb committees outside of last year when Kyren was the only startable back. Robinson has been quoted as saying "Allgeier is certainly going to have a big role." Bijan is a mega-talent, but I worry that like last year he might not get the volume drafters hope. -
I wouldn't call those stats "best case." Heck, he nearly had that last year and missed a game. 2nd year with Carr, new coordinator - there's room for improvement... probably not a lot, but unlikely to fall much below it either. I'm slightly out on Evans who's yet another year older, had an incredible deep catch rate which doesn't seem sustainable, the Bucs lost their coordinator - the Qb Whisperer which concerns me with Mayfield, and Goddard is moving to slot which might change things. Don't hate Evans, just a bit risky. Had him last year - did well, but now feels like the right time to get out. Totally out on Moore... the target competition in Chicago is ridiculous with additions of Allen, Swift, and Odunze, not to mention Kmet (90 tar last year) still there. To top it off, the rookie qb. As for Metcalf... I'm in like Flynn! Hoping he's my 3rd round Wr. Match nicely with my 1st and 2nd round Wrs. Oh yeah, that's how I roll.

Most "war experts" think the Kursk attack is likely temporary and expect an orderly retreat once Russia (slow and lumbering) gets around to hitting it hard within a month or so.

UPDATE: QB J.J. McCarthy Out for the Year - Knee Injury
GobbleDog replied to polecatt's topic in FFToday Board
Holy crap. Sam Darnold to the rescue!!! At least now he won't be looking over his shoulder after every play. -
Catch 22... Diverts troops - weaken Donbas. Wait to divert - Ukraine has time to build defensive lines in Kursk. Another Russian problem is they previously didn't need to protect their Ukraine border, because Ukraine wasn't permitted by UN countries to attack. Now they need to defend a long stretch of land with more than just a few border guards. Very ballsy. Ukraine needs to chose carefully where to use their precious resources. Hope this turns out to be the right decision.

I'll give ya Jacobs might've just had a bad year on a bad team. Mixon's metrics have been poor for years now. His last semi-decent year was '19 and he was still just 4.1 ypc. He's been fantasy valuable simply though sheer volume on the high-scoring Bengals. I will say I've heard "experts" talk about Mixon's time in Cinci and apparently they consistently ran him up the gut - play after play for years, which probably hurt his yac, but those are also some really punishing carries. And he had a lot of them.
-
Not avoiding, but need to fall a round or two... Rb 13 Jacobs ... high-millage Rb coming off poor metrics. Rb 16 Mixon ... see Jacobs Rb 20 Conner ... had a career year, but old, often injured, and they drafted Benson. Seems more a 1st half rental. Wr 13 Pittman ... I have serious concerns about his Qb's passing skills. Wr 19 DJ Moore ... great talent, but sure benefited from Bear's lack of talent last year. Not the case now, with a rookie Qb to boot. Te 3 McBride ... Te 8 last year. Great second half, while most other options were injured (Ertz, Hollywood, Wilson). Qb 6 Stroud ... greatest rookie season ever finishing Qb 11 in pt/gm. Might regress, might get better - but Qb 6 better?
