First HC to be Fired: Titans' Brian Callahan
GobbleDog replied to Mike FF Today's topic in FFToday Board
And yet the Dolphins won't fire Mike McDaniel. Heck Miami's GM is in his 10th season... zero playoff wins and after a decade on the job - this is the team he created. No other professional sports organization in the world would put up with that much ineptitude. Except the Dolphins. -
TNF Discussion: Eagles @ Giants - Week 6
GobbleDog replied to Mike FF Today's topic in FFToday Board
4 straight on Thursday Night Football.... not what the NFL wanted to see. Good way to make sure it gets banned in the off-season. -
That's my logic. Also think Haskins is more likely to get goal line carries due to size advantage and usage with Harbaugh back at Michigan.
-
He's about to learn "Yall seriously invested over 40% of the cap in 4 players? And one is out for the season? I'm screwed." I have no faith in this working out. Flacco looked awful in Cleveland posting the worst Qb rating of his career. Now he's behind a bad o-line that can't run.
-
Now Diggs is now officially startable. He needed a big game to prove he still has that potential. Something that remained unknown until Sunday. Probably won't be consistent ... but that's most Wrs this year. Many in the top 3 rounds have been wildly inconsistent or just outright bad.

There's some scuttlebutt of Kamara getting traded over the next few weeks. Kendre Miller would suddenly own that backfield. Might be worth a bench spot if ya got room.
-
Rachaad White is worth considering given the uncertainty with Bucky. There's a chance he gets the start next week.
-
That's insane. He almost certainly won't be around down the stretch. Gotta save that money for the elites later in the season.

I think suicide league is the same as a guillotine league. Right? I'm in my 3rd year in a guillotine league. We also start with $1,000 FAB. The "experts" warn not to bid much the first few weeks and I've stuck to that advice. Only used about $75 so far picking up some mid-level Wrs with $20 - $30 bids. If you lost Nabers and Hill (oof - that sucks), then you probably need to pony up a little extra. Something like: $175 Chase - I'd go more, but without Burrow not sure Chase will ever return to superstar. $125 Allen $75 Pittman $60 Jennings $25 Slayton For me, I'm hurting at Rb and Gibbs just hit the waiver wire and I'm bidding $181 ... My biggest bid so far this year, but I need help. I probably won't get him, but that's as high as I'm willing to go. It's too early to brake the bank.

I did end up drafting Tank - even reached a bit with a 9th round pick. Of course didn't start him, but of all the players I completely whiffed on - Tank tops the list. Since dropped him. Read those tea leaves wrong.
-
Brian Thomas Jr. with the 9th overall pick. Otherwise, can't complain. 3-1 and about to end a long playoff drought. For once, my instincts worked - and I don't mean just avoiding injury bug. Chase Brown -vs- Bucky Irving.... for a week before the draft I was back and forth what to do with my 2nd rd pick. Brown's mediocre metrics and Bengals poor o-line nudged me in the right direction. Cook falling to early 4th sealed the deal. I'll be banana dancing my way to the playoffs!

MNF Discussion: Buccaneers @ Texans - Week 2
GobbleDog replied to Mike FF Today's topic in FFToday Board
Texans had one of the worst o-lines coming into the season. In week 1 they earned a pff grade of 25th and now their starting center is out. I would've guessed the spread to be Bucs -3, not Texans. Shows what I know. -
Kirk Cousins reunion.

Halloween is just around the corner! Maga hat, some blood, a sign reading "I love the 2nd amendment"... Charlie Kirk costumes!

No loyalty. I had this conversation with my dad once... "If I murdered someone, would ya turn me in?" He said yes. I was like "Seriously? Heck, I'd help you bury Mom."

TNF Discussion: Commanders at Packers - Week 2

They said Achilles - not ***officially*** a full tear yet... but I think we know. It's over Johnny. 9,000+ all purpose yards, 73 Tds, 9 seasons. Strangely - never made a pro-bowl. A top fantasy pick for a few years between '21-'23. Thanks for the memories. -
"European airlines have been locking c*ckpit doors for nearly a decade... perhaps we should do that too.?." FAA - nah, screw that.

Florida has a law known as the Sunshine Law which requires nearly everything that goes on government record, be available to the public quickly. Slow day in the media... check Florida records and find an odd story. Hence the perception "only in Florida."

Certainly explains Tank's limited usage week 1... trade was pending. Unfortunately, it completely nukes his value. I'll be dropping him Wed morning.

Dolphin fans knew vibes around the team weren't good with disgruntled players demanding trades. Most assumed they'd finish around 0.500 and miss the playoffs again. Of course there was hope the team might be better than assumed, or at least contend for playoffs for part of the season. That was before getting humiliated on opening day. The team is worse than anyone imagined and the coach is officially a clown shoe. Losing to the Colts is one thing, but they didn't even compete. The Colts scored on every possession. How long can a modern NFL gm keep a job without a playoff win, you ask? You'd assume maybe 5 years before getting axed. Possibly 7 years in rare cases if the team consistently made the playoffs. Dolphins gm Grier is entering his 10th season and after a decade on the job without any playoff wins, this is the team he's created. The man still cashes a paycheck. I've obviously been disappointed many times by the Dolphins over the decades, but I'd never reached this level of total disgust. FU to everyone associated with the Dolphins from players, to the coach, to gm, and particularly the owner who purchased the team in 2006 and turned a once proud franchise into a catastrophic embarrassment.

Usually better to get out a year too early, than a year too late. Particularly with a 1st round pick. Before I looked at adp's a few months back for the first time, I would've guessed McCaff's adp to be about mid-3rd rd. I was stunned at the optimism. I guess he reached a level of fantasy greatness nobody can forget and many believe it returns. It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out. The drafters who risked 1st rd picks are the ultimate gamblers - I can respect that. If they all get paid, hats off.
