    Your Playoff Predictions

Nobody hates Dallas more than me and I bad-mouthed Dak Prescott all off-season, but after watching several of their final games, I think this could be their year. Even when Dallas lost to my Dolphins 3 weeks ago, it wasn't Prescott's fault. Dude was making beautiful throws - threading needles, perfect fade passes, good decisions. SuperBowl LVIII: Cowboys vs Ravens I'll take Cowboys and the points.

    Was the 2020 election stolen?

Trump did some things I liked, and a lot of things I despised, but this was the absolute worst. Convincing Americans and much of the world that U.S. elections are illegitimate. Drive through some red-neck towns and you'll still see "Trump Won" flags still flying. Putin absolutely loves it... Russian elections are of course totally rigged and Russians know it, but this makes it more palatable to them. It implies "see, democracy doesn't work. They're equally as corrupt." I used to say Obama was the worst President I ever had in my lifetime, but Trump has taken over that position - and I voted for that piece of garbage. I can admit when I'm wrong. Way wrong.

Do you really use the "Ignore User" function?

After 20+ years here, I added my first and only ignore the other day. Won't mention name. Got tired of reading the same uninteresting (politically charged) garbage, over and over. I only wish the ignore function would also delete their threads, instead of just posts.
  4. Mexico and Venezuela are your counter examples? How about comparison with other first world countries like Canada, UK, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Japan, etc. ?
  5. I only watched him in one game this year... can't remember which one. But me and my friends felt the same way - very underwhelmed.
  6. Other countries have criminals who don't care about laws. Why don't they have horrid gun violence rates?

  8. Every other first world country must have an intolerable amount of gun tragedies since they all have strict gun control. Yet they don't. Let's see if we can find a correlation... the U.S. has the highest gun violence/mass shooting rates of every first world country.... the U.S. has the most liberal gun laws of every first world country. Hmmm, what could it possible be? So perplexing.
  9. My all time best score ... 120. Only parred 3 times in my life. After the first one, I retired the ball.
  10. Anyone who favors gun rights should feel responsible, since they're the reason this happens. I have no blood on my conscious.

    Ukraine - Doomsday

You can't give him props for going to the front line and doing that? Human trafficking? What does that have to do with anything? Ya know I've never seen you post anything interesting. Not once. And you post a lot. Even an idiot gets lucky once in a while, but not you. I've never blocked anyone on this site in 20+ years here and I've read a lot of crap, but nothing you post is ever worth reading. Later kid.

    What's Your Gripe ?

Interesting, I wonder what Florida's law is.?. My wife recently bought a '21 Honda Pilot. Great car, but the damn headlights are halogen. Great for driving at night. Not so great for on-coming traffic. Every time I drive at night drivers are constantly flashing high beams at me, even though mine's not on. I don't even flash back. I feel their pain. Those damn headlights should be illegal.

    Ukraine - Doomsday

Wonder if Putin has the guts to visit the front lines and award medals to troops brandishing machine guns?

    Bye Bye Nikki

How many Confederate soldiers would've said "I'm fighting so rich folks can own slaves!"? They fought for Southern rights. My kin fought in that war (I have a framed picture of great-great grandpa in uniform) and he sure as hell didn't do it for slavery. It would've been gone by the turn of the century anyway, war or no war. Sadly, the filthy Yanks won and Lincoln wasn't hung for being the war criminal he truly was. God bless Booth.

    Ukraine - Doomsday

Every military around the world is watching the Ukraine war. One big lesson... high-tech tanks costing $5+ mil (plus crew training) are being destroyed by $500 drones.

    Russell Wilson trade :o

Clearly this. The insane cap hit ensures the Broncos are gonna suck balls next year. From a football standpoint, they'd be better off waiting a year or two. If I were a Broncos fan, I'd be outraged. Next season is already over. Probably '25 too. I bet the Chiefs and Chargers are loving it. The Broncos and Raiders will be 4 doormat games for the next two years.

Death Pool Update: Tom Smothers at 86...

I don't watch many newer movies so I can't answer ... Old School comes to mind, but that's really old. I'm not against older comedy like the Smothers. I think old The Honeymooners are nearly as funny as modern Seinfeld stuff, great writing - way ahead of it's time. Sanford & Son holds up. So does Barney Miller. Etc.. But Smothers comedy hasn't stood the test of time. The Smothers are similar to the Carrol Burnett show. Everyone has nostalgia watching it with parents/grandparents 40 years ago... but if you actually watch one today - not funny. Don't tell your folks that like I did... they take it personally and believe it's just as hilarious today - it ain't.

Death Pool Update: Tom Smothers at 86...

Watch a Smothers clip on Youtube today... barely amusing at best. Our parents and grandparents were starved for comedy.

    Lessons learned from 2023

Obviously wr-wr isn't completely risk free, just less risky. Much less.

    Lessons learned from 2023

Rb injuries might have been more excessive this year, but I don't think it was too far from the norm (no data, just a hunch). Aside from injuries they certainly under-perform at a higher rate than other positions. The most valuable draft capital in FF is your first and second draft picks. Investing that capital in the most volatile position is inherently risky. I knew that going in this year and still couldn't help myself when Chubb was still there early 2nd. Never again. No matter how "safe" that RB appears to be.. I'm out. Wr-Wr for life in my ppr league.

    Lessons learned from 2023

Out of the top 20 Rbs drafted, you could only feel confident starting 2 of them in Week 16.... McCaffrey & Gibbs. This season totally validated Zero Rb strategy more than any other in recent history. The trick is to nail the WR picks.

    I’m 50 today

For me it was always the extra 1 that hurt... turning 30 didn't bother me - after all just a weeks ago I was in my 20's. But at 31 ya ain't fooling yourself. Same for 41, then 51. (i'm 52) Luckily, I'm gonna live to 100 so I'm barely halfway. You'll be seeing Gobble posts until 2071.

    Ukraine - Doomsday

No women? Don't necessarily have to put them on front lines. Maybe just the dykes. Interestingly, before Hitler invaded Russia they badly miscalculated their potential army size... mainly because never considered women. Nearly a million ended up fighting.

    War in Israel

Couple days ago three Israeli hostages were accidentally killed by Israeli soldiers. Apparently they were carrying a white (surrender) cloth on a stick when they were shot. Makes me wonder if some soldiers are just shooting everything that moves. How much of a threat could they have appeared to be? I doubt they were rushing at the soldiers. Sad. I will give props to Israel for admitting it. They could've easily blamed Hamas. Hopefully it was just a trigger-happy young soldier and not indicative of the whole army.
