    Kamara/Dobbins/Mattison

Dobbins... distant 2nd Mattison, distant 3rd Kamara Mattison's talent questionable (vision, movement, etc.). He'll start and get opportunity to prove doubters wrong. If he fails, job security shakier than some think. Give Kamara credit finishing Rb 16 despite missing two games last year. Now a 3-game suspension, plus his usual 2+ games for injury, new Qb, and more competition. 1/2 pt rec makes Kamara even less appealing. Probably gets drafted higher than should from name recognition.

    Top 5 WRs for 2023

I'd been saying Jefferson first, but if I actually get the #1 spot I'll have to do some soul searching. I prefer Chase's qb, qb's o-line, and fact that defenses can't just focus on just him. Can't say that for Jefferson. For now, I'll list em: 1) Chase 2) Jefferson 3) Hill 4) St. Brown 5) Wilson I won't draft Kupp based on age, injuries, and team situation. Might prove me wrong, but seems riskier than necessary with my most valuable draft capital.

    Jameson Williams Hamstring injury

6-game suspension. Williams first game back will be Week 7. Lions bye is Week 9. Then there's the acl issue. He might be medically "fine", but he won't be clogging my roster. "I was unaware of the NFL gambling policy."
  4. Not my league, but I helped a friend who drafted from the 11 spot last night in a 12-team ppr. First few rounds were normal with Wrs flying off early. A little surprised J Taylor went 2nd round. Biggest shock was how few decent Rbs remained when it snaked back at the end of the 5th... Dobbins, White, Connor, Pacheco, Mattison... gone. I've mock drafted a hundred times and one of them is always there til late 6th. He got stuck with Achilles Akers. He wanted to draft T Lawrence at that 5th/6th rd turn, which I assured him would be there since he usually goes early-7th in mocks. But nope... Lawrence, Burrow and Herbert in-that-order drafted mid 5th. Ended up with Rodgers in the 8th - not my call, but Rodgers is interesting because the range of outcomes - MVP to retirement. On the flip side, because of all the early Rb and Qbs taken, more good Wrs went later than normal.

    2024 ff top 5 qb's

To heck with the 40. I'm a big fat pocket Qb.

    Chiefs Receivers 2022 - predictions?

Fantasy "expert" (I respect) raves about Rice. Don't remember exactly, something about his playing style at SMU was going to help him be productive at KC right off the bat. I look at his SMU stats / combine and wouldn't have thought he'd be a 2nd round pick. Shows what I know.

    Chiefs Receivers 2022 - predictions?

Other than Kelce and Tyreek Hill, every drafter trying to 'get a piece of the Mahomes offense' has ended in disappointment... for all of us. Seems impossible when he throws 5,000+- yds, but he spreads it so thin. This season I like Skyy Moore because... hope. No reliable metrics or situational changes - just pure hope. Helps his adp is so low, and Toney is always injured. Though I liked hearing this quote from last week.
  8. Maybe Diontae Johnson's cat died last year.

    2024 ff top 5 qb's

Can I nominate myself? Soon as I finish this beer, I'm gonna start training for 2024 tryouts.
  10. Probably right, 14 team no ppr... I'd be completely lost.
  11. Agreed. I take team situations and injuries into account. But I'm still relying on those stats. What's the alternative? "Well, I just kind of feel (hope) this player will be good..." I've tried that strategy - doesn't work. Seems to be prominent even among many "experts."
  12. My research leads me to dislike most mid-late Wrs. Maybe I'm too hung up on next gen stats, but I just don't see many gems. Obviously I'm missing some, but what to do when there's no data supporting it? Sometimes I find a good prospect, but situation stinks. George Pickens metrics indicate a fairly talented Wr, but his Qb is the worst starer in the league IMO. On the flip side, I like several mid-late Rbs.

Drafting #1 - who ya got?

Watson did not look good in his six starts last year. Browns executives had to be freaking out after trading away three 1st-round draft picks, a 3rd, and 4th. Then signing Mr. Sexual Lawsuits to a $230 mill fully guaranteed contract. They were probably rocking back and forth repeating "it's just rust, it's just rust..." while sucking their thumbs. Well it's a new season and training camp rolled around. Surely he's "knocked off the rust" by now.?. Let's hear what Browns beat reporter Zac Johnson has to say... "The passing game has been completely unimpressive. Anything that involves Watson remaining in the pocket has been an adventure, and not since early camp have we seen a string of consecutive completions." Said there were some impressive throws, but "there has been little consistency present in the passing game, and very little happening down the field beyond 10 yards. "

    Pre-Season Action - Week 2

HOU defensive lineman Will Anderson, Jr. ... damn. 3rd overall pick. Now I see why. Blew up o-lineman, got on Qb fast, caused fumble.

    Pre-Season Action - Week 2

2023 will forever be known as Year of the Fish!
  16. Some birds (i respect) chirp that a Taylor holdout is more possible than most believe. At least, way more than I thought. Name to remember Rb 78 Evan Hull - Colts 5th rd pick out of Northwestern. Listed 4th on depth, but that's not set in stone. Reportedly good receiver with great vision. Some think had he played in the SEC, he'd have gone 2-3 rds earlier. Combine results were similar to Bijan Robinson in every category. He's not being drafted so if this lotto ticket cashes you'll look like the greatest ff genius of all time.
  17. No other season in ff has had more value at the Rb position, for the late draft positions. Years past 8+ Rbs were gone in the first round. If you drafted a Rb from late positions (1st or 2nd rd) ya got crumbs. Not this year. You're selecting from top 5 Rbs, while early position drafters are left with crumbs. Total flip flop.
  18. I like every player mentioned... but Najee Harris makes me nervous. I'd been mock drafting him late 3rd because he's supposedly the last potential 300+ touch back left. But I'm having second thoughts. The metrics just aren't impressive. Najee blew up his rookie year, but that was entirely due to an insane 381 touches, 74 of which were cheap dump offs from Rothlesburger's spent arm. But his running efficiency wasn't great. Boring metric rankings: True yac 53rd, Yd per touch 41st, Breakaway rate 28th, Yds created per touch 24th, etc. Last year, his touches dropped to 313 with almost identical metrics, and in some categories worse. Najee does one thing great - evades first tackle, ranked 2nd and 4th respective years. Sounds impressive, but it's meaningless when he does virtually nothing with it after that. On the flip side, Jaylen Warren should have a more prominent roll considering his rushing metrics were rather impressive. Beginning to wonder if the Steelers just don't go full rotation. Why keep giving nearly all the carries to a guy who does nothing with it? Throw in Pickett (worst starting qb in league IMO) and Najee's appeal starts looking much less appealing. Food for thought

    Toney Knee surgery

Nobody's wants Pacheco as their rb 2. But everyone has to make sacrifice at some position. Ya can't have it all. The Rb 2 sacrifice results in Pacheco and his ilk.

    Kick Ass Kickers

We all need one, so let's waste a second on the most random position in ff. History shows most top 5 kickers play for 50-50 teams. Make sense. Winning teams don't settle for field goals; losing teams can't score a field goal. So middling teams: o/u 7.5 wins - Packers, Bears, Titans, Giants, Panthers, Patriots o/u 8.5 wins - Steelers, Seahawks, Vikings, Falcons, Broncos From that group, Seattle's Jason Myers looks good. 32 yo career 85.9%, coming off 91.9% and a perfect 6 for 6 beyond 50 yds. Also good, Falcon's Younghoe Koo. 29 yo career 89.1%, coming off 86.5%. Missed 4 of 11 beyond 50 though. Don't know if any were blocked or Dey-Tu-Lo. Finally, Giant's Gano Graham. 36 yo career 84.6%, coming off 90.6%. Only missed 1 of 9 beyond 50 last year. So... who ya taking with your last pick?

Drafting #1 - who ya got?

Not as many Rb's are drafted between those 22 picks as prior years. Only about 9 are gone. From the 1 spot you're probably looking at Jacobs, Taylor, Rhamondre, Najee, etc. All should get 300+ touches. Doubt that would've happened years past. Everyone prefers Ekeler over them, but we're talking about Rbs. Investing your most valuable draft capital (first rounder) in the most volatile position in ff position is risky.

    Ignore List

None. Nor reported. But I got reported... then suspended. Apparently, referring to a poster's Latino wife as a "beaner" isn't comedy gold.

Bill Belichick is a Facade. Not a good coach!

Me too. Reid led the Eagles to 4 NFC title games and a Superbowl.... and then they fired him. I didn't like watching the Eagles win a title after that. The football gods should've punished them for the next century. But he did pretty well without them. My Dolphins haven't won a playoff game since 2000. Lead my Dolphins to 4 AFC title games and that coach is welcome to stay for the next 20 winless years.

Drafting #1 - who ya got?

I see the problem - I only look at ppr. Ok, if Johnson is going 8th round, then my "over-rated" arguments aren't as strong. I still wouldn't draft him there, but it's the 8th round so who cares.

    Toney Knee surgery

Probably right. But Pacheco will get an opportunity to prove he's more than a jag. Clyde already blew his chance.
