My Orlando Magic is the prefect example of what's wrong with the NBA. Lucky enough to get the no. 1 pick the year a generational player like Shaq entered. Eventually leads us to a title game and then... "I don't wanna play here." So the Magic sucked for years until they luckily got the no. 1 pick again, which happened to be the year Dwight Howard entered. Eventually leads us to a title game and... "I don't wanna play here." We've sucked ever since. In most sports (NFL) one superstar player doesn't guarantee squat. But in the NBA one superstar changes everything. Just have to hope your team is one of the few places they want to play... otherwise, you'll have to get extremely lucky and draft one, and then hope to win a title before they leave. It's FAN-tatastic.

If Rodgers, Mosely and Breece Hall stay healthy, Jets are going to win Super Bowl
GobbleDog replied to Tivoli's topic in FFToday Board
Easy there... rather have Rodgers over Carr, but whatever. Can't argue much. Noodle arm Jimmy G who faked being a serviceable QB with dump offs to talents like McCaff and Deebo.?. And now plays for the TANKING Vegas Raiders.?. Not bloody likely. -
My mock drafts mean nothing... keep stealing Ford in the 11th, 12th, 13th rounds. Seriously doubt I'll get away with that after pre-season.

UPDATE: Jonathan Taylor: Asking For A Trade - New Contract Extension!
GobbleDog replied to LaChup's topic in FFToday Board
Can't believe the Colts would trade Taylor, no matter how much he hates the owner. Hold out is unlikely - Rbs don't do that anymore - year lost, millions lost, and position devalued. No leverage. Have no idea how this affects his fantasy stock. Wasn't too interested anyway. -
UPDATE: Dalvin Cook Expected to Sign with the Jets
GobbleDog replied to makindollaz's topic in FFToday Board
No doubt. So how much discount will that mean for Steve? Currently RB 10, drafted early 3rd. Does he fall to RB 15 - 20 ? Finished RB 8 in my league last year. So, 4th - 5th rd ? I'm in. -
UPDATE: Dalvin Cook Expected to Sign with the Jets
GobbleDog replied to makindollaz's topic in FFToday Board
Love Stevenson, so when I saw this I was concerned. But if it happens, ok Steve loses carries to 28 yo Zeke. On the flip side, Steve's adp plummets way further than it should (i think it's already too low). Might be a good thing. -
7th... ? Maybe, if they have to amputate that leg.

UPDATE: Dalvin Cook Expected to Sign with the Jets
GobbleDog replied to makindollaz's topic in FFToday Board
Seems this is exactly why Rodgers agreed to a pay cut. He wants Cook. Not good for people wanting to draft Hall, and not good people wanting to fade him. We all get screwed. -
I won't allow my 13 yo daughter to get pierced ears. If she wants to look like a wh0re after she's 18 - that's her business, but not while living under my roof. You can imagine my stance on pierced noses and tattoos.

Didn't think I'd be a Perine cheerleader. But he's competing against 2 unproven Rbs and Williams who tore everything in his knee possible. On a Peyton offense which can only get better. And the fact that Bengals knew all about him and still thought worthy of a decent contract, rather than cut, says something. Even if his stats don't pop off the page (pass blocking skills maybe?). He has some receiving skills - which Sean Payton schemed a lot with Kamara. 9th, 10th rd... hard to argue Perine is a bad pick. Limited upside, but probably finishes higher than most other 10th+ rd Rbs. If he was younger, I'd be more bullish. 27? Probably has grandkids.

I think the best ya can hope for is 5th round. I've mock drafted more than I care to admit... 95% of the time Burrow is drafted in the 4th... early, mid and late. Extremely rare to see to him fall to 5th.
-
Rodgers is a jerk after the season is over. Not before when there's hope.
-
Burrow averaged a career high 4.4 carries per game last year. Up from 2.2 the prior two years. Obviously, that's not where he makes his money, and the Bengals sure as hell ain't gonna design him run plays. I'd draft Burrow in a wheelchair.
-
Which is why it's stunning the Broncos didn't draft a Rb, didn't sign an undrafted Rb, and haven't signed any big name vets... Hunt, Cook, Zeke, Fournette. Denver had 8 Rbs play last year, only two are still on the team - Williams and Badie, the rest released. Broncos currently list four Rbs on depth chart - Williams, Perine, Jones Jr., Badie. 25 yo Tony Jones Jr. undrafted in 2020. Powerback played for Notre Dame. Signed by Saints, then Seattle, and now Denver (signed March). 2.4 yd career average and still hasn't scored a TD. 23 yo Tyler Badie 2022 6th rd pick Ravens, waived preseason. Signed with Denver Week 18... got 1 carry, 1 rec, and 1 TD. Pass catching back out of Missouri. Last but least... 27 yo Samaje Perine 2017 4th rd pick Redskins. Now on his 5th NFL team. Surprisingly decent receiver, despite 236 lbs. One thing to note he wasn't cut by the Bengals, but turned down their similar offer as Broncos. Signed March. So what is Denver thinking? Turn a hobbled star and 3 bums, into a decent rotation? Perhaps waiting to see if that works, and ready to sign a big name vet if needed.?. Don't think I want any part of this.

FFPros has Rodgers as pick No. 104.... mid 9th. Close. But by draft day, it's probably more like 7th or 8th.
-
Not knocking him for getting paid full value. But then he shouldn't pout that the Packers didn't have better players. They let Adams go because they couldn't afford him. Meanwhile Brady racked up 7 Superbowls taking pay cuts. On a side note, this is supposedly the Bills last great shot at a Superbowl because they'll have a cap hit of $100 mill next year in just three players (Allen, Diggs, Von Miller)... that's 40% of the entire salary cap. Von Miller will be 35 then. Time to pay the piper.

Never thought I'd quit posting at the Geek board, but I'm down to 1 or 2 posts a week. Can't take the "liberals" and "magatards" threads. Sucks that a few certain posters could ruin a once good forum. But they did.
-
If Rodgers had done that in Green Bay years ago, he'd have a lot more Superbowls.
-
Toney fell more than "a notch" in the 12 team mock this morning... taken round 11. That's probably where he should be drafted, but ya know somebody will pull the trigger much earlier.
-
Raiders win/loss odds are 6.5. They may be playing (tanking) for the #1 pick, regardless of Jacobs.
-
Unlike Rbs there's only 5 or so particular Wrs I like in later rounds. Moore is one of them at about rd 12. And that was before I knew of Toney's surgery. Apparently Toney hurt his knee in Sunday's practice, which turned out to be more than a tweak as first described. Now his status for week 1 is in question. But heck his status for this entire season was already in question in my mind... Toney - sick talent, but just can't stay healthy.

Bronny James, son of LeBron James, suffers cardiac arrest at USC basketball practice

Cardiac arrest? Not a flop? -
Didn't the Giants offer Barkley $13M a year for the first two years of a new contract?
GobbleDog replied to seafoam1's topic in FFToday Board
A fantasy podcast I listen to was talking about Rb holdouts, and how it doesn't really happen anymore. The last to do it was Lev Bell in 2018, who later said he totally regretted it. -
I saw this in the news, but sounds like ridiculous rhetoric from a leader who's made a living at it. Poland is NATO. Go ahead, invade. I double dare ya.
