My goal and purpose is to help raise the vibration of Earth

I can respect that argument, but only if it includes EVERY conscious being in the universe, from bacteria to worms to people. Heck, there's debate whether plants have a differentiated form of consciousness as some intersect with the environment and other plants in various ways. Once you include every life form in the discussion as having equal status, it makes the human consciousness seem rather meaningless. And if they aren't included, then it sounds like a throw back to old style religion - God made Man, and Universe revolves around Earth type stuff.

This is where religions lose me. Consciousness/soul (after you die and lack consciousness) seems to be an emphasis in the religious world. Understandable people are drawn to that - nobody wants to not exist, even after death. They didn't have a problem with it before they were born, but I digress. That rationale seems too specific. What makes me... me? Cut off my arms, legs, heck remove everything but my brain and keep it alive with tubes. But the brain is comprised of trillions of atoms and requires oxygen and nutrition molecules to stay alive, all of which came from the universe. When my corpse rots or is cremated... those atoms will continue to interact with the universe for all eternity - just as they did before I was born. This line of thinking leads me to consider the universe as one being. I don't put much stock in consciousness, hell even insects have consciousness. Regardless, I appreciate the philosophical discussion.

Seems more reasonable than supernatural (and contradictory) stories found in other religions. Buddhism and Hindu are branches of the same tree, though I don't know the differences or history. Hate to admit I'm not actually into Buddhism - sounds like you know way more than me. Someone once pointed out to me that my beliefs just happen to align. I also share their idea of desire being the root of suffering - I understand the logic. Buddhism gets a little weird (to me) about reincarnation theories being reborn into various realms of existence depending on karma. I can go along with reincarnation of the next being to gain conciseness. Once your conciseness ceases to exist, who's to say it isn't you. Beyond that, they lose me.

Laughing at Blue Origin All female Crew

Sounds similar to The Titan submersible which imploded near the Titanic in '23. Apparently a legal loophole allowed the sub to carry "crew", as carrying tourists/passengers would entail much stricter sub testing. Maybe this stunt played the same legal game.

A Geek thread without political arguments - refreshing. My beliefs apparently align with Buddhism seeing the universe as one being with everything in it eternally connected. Seems logical with no faith or supernatural required. Most religions focus on individual conciseness... too myopic IMO.
  6. Nothing racist about wanting your race and culture preserved. All races feel the same.
  7. Lee Harvey Oswald was barely 24 when he died. Joined marines, defected to Russia, moved back, got married, dabbled in Cuban politics, assassinated President... Over-achiever

    Zelensky and Ukraine Thread

Which side do you blame and what's the reasoning? Putin said he invaded Ukraine in order to "denazify" the country. You going with that?

    Zelensky and Ukraine Thread

News conference earlier today at the White House: Journalist - "Will you agree to Zelensky's offer to purchase Patriot missiles?" Trump - "I don't know - he's always looking to purchase missiles. Listen, when you start a war you gotta know you can win. You don't start a war against somebody twenty times your size and then hope that people give you some missiles." Ukraine invaded Russia.?. Still touting Russian propaganda... unbelievable.

    Zelensky and Ukraine Thread

Not only promised to end it in 24 hours over and over again, he occasionally said "MARK MY WORDS" before boldly claiming it. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when he said.. "I was being sarcastic." Mark my words was sarcasm? Why not reply "unfortunately it didn't happen" or "I misspoke" and just admit a mistake.?. Instead Trump went with another lie on top of the first lie.
  11. No drugs/alcohol discovered, because he left the scene. Which suggests drugs/alcohol were involved.
  12. Yeah, don't be cool with that. It wasn't Kenny's fault for reckless driving which killed someone and fled to avoid DUI manslaughter charges, then later led cops on a high speed pursuit after firing a gun in anger. It was all mental health. Also, don't take parenting advice from Kyren Lacy. God didn't need your baby... poetic justice did.
  13. Don't think he realized the markets would react so severely, so he pumped the brakes. The 10% tariffs are still terrible for the economy along with the 25% on autos .... however, I will say I don't mind as much the tariff war with China. They break trade agreements, manipulate currency, and blatantly steal intellectual property. They've never played on a level playing field. The entire world should've stopped trading with them decades ago.
  14. What would FoxNews nuts be saying if Biden had slapped insane tariffs on every country and caused the stock market to crash? Would they applaud those policies because they think it's the right thing to do? No way in hell, they'd be furious and attacking Biden - so would I. But when Trump does the same thing... "it's wonderful." Goes to show their opinions aren't actually THEIR opinions.

    Local protest

How do ya know they were all paid? Got any evidence or is that just a knee-jerk response ya learned from Foxnews? Sorta like "fake news" whenever there's news that doesn't flatter Trump.?. I would've gladly joined their protest, and I fully support them... yet I wasn't paid - by the lefties or anyone else. Here's something ya need to learn as ya grow up kid, not everyone lives in this "us vs them" world like you've been trained. Some just want whatever works best, regardless of party affiliation. And many think Trump's policies are dog-sh*t.

    Local protest

The "Nazi" reference wasn't about mistreatment of Jews. They use it to describe a leader who acts like dictator. Odd you didn't understand that, because only a complete moron wouldn't.
  17. "There's a $39 billion trade deficit with Switzerland.?. Quick, massive tariffs!" Switzerland's population is 9 million, the US population is 340 million. Ya expect so few to spend more than the US? That doesn't make sense. "We're running a $640 million trade surplus with Ukraine.?. Massive tariffs!" Um, what? How much tariff should we apply to countries run by dictators like Russia, North Korea, Cuba, and Belarus? "Nothing, I like them."
  18. My wife, a soft-spoken lily-white Christian girl from Alabama, for some inexplicable reason loves ... thug-life gangster rap. I don't get it. Every year we drive the kid to camp and then the 10 hour drive home... ugh.

That's what drives me insane with maga-nuts... agreeing with everything Trump does/says, and disagreeing with everything Biden did/said. What are the odds that every view you have on every issue, lines up perfectly with what FoxNews supports? All while being totally unbiased? It's incredible. It's almost as though, they aren't thinking for themselves. To me the term "liberals" refers to the opposite - agreeing with every extremist leftist view and supporting every Democrat policy - equally as ridiculous. But to the maga-world the label apparently applies to anyone who disagrees with ANY of Trump's policies. Well I strongly disagree with most of them... so color me "libtard."

Conservatives are going to make us all Brokies

I agree with everything except "innocent people deported". People get deported for being here illegally. What's wrong with that? If you snuck into a country and they kicked you out, ya probably wouldn't blame the country. And most countries don't allow just any bozo to legally immigrate. For some reason, everyone thinks the US is supposed to be the world's doormat.

I don't mind when people disagree with me on issues, as long as they discuss things intelligently. Clearly not your strength.
  22. https://www.npr.org/2025/03/27/nx-s1-5341552/signal-leak-military-double-standard "What typically happens in a spillage as serious as this is they're immediately fired," says Kevin Carroll, who served 30 years in the Army, followed by the CIA and then the Department of Homeland Security in the first Trump administration. He says there's no doubt what would have happened to an active-duty officer who had participated in the Signal chat. "They're processed for being kicked out of the military, and they're referred for criminal prosecution," he says. A lawyer himself, Carroll has defended troops who accidentally leaked information. "I've defended spillage cases where people were going to be put out of the military or people were going to be turned out of their job within the military for violations that are just the smallest fraction of what just occurred," Carroll said. Military officers who have sent battlefield assessments that were several years old have lost their jobs for passing the information over an unsecured channel, Carroll said. He defended a junior Marine Corps officer in court who sent urgent, potentially lifesaving information to fellow officers in Afghanistan from a non-classified email server and was relieved of duty. Carroll says, for troops, seeing leadership share attack plans in advance on Signal but so far suffer no consequences is toxic to morale. That double standard is so common, he adds, that there's a phrase for it in the military: "different spanks for different ranks."
  23. They let off Hillary, Trump, and Biden. I'm not loyal to any party. Only want justice. Always thought people in authority (police, judges, and politicians) should be held to higher standards, not lower as seems to be the norm. Heck, I'd settle for equal standards at this point.
  24. Leaking classified information is illegal. Intentional or not.
  25. Already established you're anti-Snopes. Fine. So... ya gonna provide the link that disproves them or not? Tampon dispensers in every boy bathroom in Minnesota. Let's see it.
