That time of year again: Camp injury news (Tyjae Spears)
GobbleDog replied to Vikings4ever's topic in FFToday Board
I keep reading that. Might be true, but on top of everything... even if he is healthy - Russ Wilson. Mr. throw-it-deep but can't hit the middle of the field. It's all just too much. I only got one #1 pick and I'm rather stingy about it. -

I've done a complete 180 on Nabers. Was hyped a few months back, but at this point... way too many worries to invest my most valuable draft capital. As they say "ya don't win the league with early picks, but you can sure as hell can lose." -

You could argue Kyren deserved it as back-pay for his insane workload the past couple years, but Cook's future prospects look brighter. More talented and more gas in the tank.

Without ever looking at adp... I would've guessed CMC's adp be about mid-3rd rd. Shows what I know. Clearly I'm not the gambler. He could fall to the 4th rd and honestly I wouldn't draft him. It's not just the injury risk... does he even still have the juice that once made him great coming off that injury and given his age? Maybe, but nobody knows. That's a two-fer risky. Not interested.

Good for him getting paid, but fantasy wise.... adp Rb 11 is too rich for me. Finished Rb 10 ppg due to 350 touches and 16 Tds. Be surprised if he gets that many again - Rams moved up several spots to get another Rb and Corum is still there. He's also coming off two seasons of serious workloads so injury is a concern. Not to mention, Stafford is dealing with his own back issues. He's a goal line freak, I'll give him that and he got paid so the Rams will want some return on that investment. But fantasy wise I think he's being drafted at his ceiling. The floor probably isn't too low, but I expect he finishes Rb 15-20 range.

Addison was getting mock drafted in the 7th rd so the suspension probably won't have a major impact on adp. He'll get drafted as someone's back-up.

Guarantee c0ckpit video will be required on European airlines long before the US ever requires it. The FAA is toothless - they enforce whatever is on the books, but their suggestions fall on the airlines deaf ears. Like 9/11.... many European airlines had been required to lock c0ckpit doors for years, for fear of hijacking or a major attack.... not the US. It's law now - but should've been law decades ago.

Latest report was three seconds after lift-off, one of the pilots flipped a fuel switch to the cutoff position, then one second later - the other fuel switch. One pilot reportedly asked "why did you turn off the fuel?" to which the other said he didn't. The fuel was then turned back on, but too late - one engine reignited just as it went down. A commercial pilot on Youtube who's followed the crash said it's impossible to accidentally turn them off due to the complex design of the switches and concludes ... suicide. The real question is - they keep voice recorders and sensor recorders on the black-box.... why the hell in 2025 do they not have video in the c0ck-pits?

Quinshon Judkins arrested for domestic violence

This explains the unusual 9 am arrest. The pimp hand is always strongest just after midnight. -

Agreed. Even if he's innocent, still shows bad judgement hanging with scum. Shockingly the arrest occurred at 9 am. Who has domestic violence at that hour? Wouldn't think he or the "victim" were drinking that early. -

Report says "1500 block of W Cypress Creek Rd, Fort Lauderdale, FL" - looks like a huge strip center, so there could be video but who knows. Faces a 6 game suspension at min if found guilty. I'm guessing he's currently negotiating a cash settlement with the victim. Goodell isn't gonna suspend him without a guilty verdict, unless there's video. Odds are the victim won't cooperate, charges dropped, no suspension. Still, way to go Browns. -
Half the year, my car clock is one hour off. Don't care enough to figure out how to change it. I live in bizzaro-Melon world.

Say that to Garrett Wilson.

I'm Wr guy which burned me last year, but I am what I yam. Draft early Wrs, scout Rbs later. So I'm hunting through the rankings today, doing my first bit of research and a few names stood out. (Rb 12) Breece Hall - how the mighty have fallen considering where he ranked last year (3rd). Only missed one game and finished Rb 16. Everything was down - yds, tds and rec (though still a respectable 57 rec). In '23, Hall finished Rb 4 despite a bad Jets offense. Rodgers is gone replaced by Fields - no Rb competition added. Jets invested a first rd pick on o-line and signed a couple backups (might increase last year's lowly 2.1 Yds-Before-Contact). If he repeats last year he'll be slightly poor value, and if he reverts to '23... tremendous. The truth is probably in the middle. Still young, talented, and probably the focal point of the offense with Fields under center. (Rb 14) James Cook - despite missing a game he slightly out performed Adp and finished Rb 9. Similar to '23 when he finished Rb 11. No major changes in Buffalo. Interestingly, the Bills had the most rushing Tds last year with Cook getting a whopping 16, though his receptions declined to 32. No Rb competition added. The Bills are a high scoring offense and he's a beneficiary. Entering 4th year, only missed two total games. Feels like a safe pick in this range. (Rb 21) Aaron Jones - old man still doing it. Finished Rb 14 last year without missing a game. The big change is McCarthy at Qb and the Vikings also signed Rb Jordan Mason to a sizable contract so Jones might not see another 255 carries. But he was productive with his carries at 4.5 ypc and added 51 rec. Vikes invested a 1st rd pick on o-line and signed two decent free agents. Might be tough to replicate last year with Mason in the fold (never know), but Rb 21 seems like the floor if healthy again. Edit: second thoughts on Jones - read below. (Rb 27) RJ Harvey - Bronco's 2nd rd pick. Scouts say he can run like hell and most importantly - he can catch. Lord knows Shanahan edit: Sean Payton loves that. Minimal Rb competition. Considering the draft capital invested, probably steps in as the lead back who could be staring at least 50+ receptions (J Williams had 52). Rb 27 seems like a gift. (Rb 29) Quinshon Judkins - Brown's 2nd rd pick. Supposedly Chubb's replacement. Probably not quite as good, but scouts love him - "homerun ability" - whatever. Likely doesn't get tons of receptions as Ford is still there. The Browns do two things well - play defense and pound the rock, it's in their DNA. This is the new rock totter. Maybe it's early and the hype train hasn't left the station, but this feels too low for a guy who might easily get 200+ carries. (Rb 31) Brian Robinson Jr. - finished Rb 29 last year, due to missing 3 games and left early in a couple. Still had 187 carries, (4.3 ypc) 8 Tds, 25 rec. Redskins had 4th most rushing Tds last year, mainly due to Daniels but shows commitment. Robinson has missed a few games each of his three years, but he's still the lead back as old man Ekeler didn't show much. Redskins invested a 1st rd pick on o-line. Can't imagine Robinson breaking top 10-15 with Daniels vulturing so many carries and Tds, but should easily out-perform this lowly adp. (Rb 35) Javonte Williams - ok scraping the barrel, but what the hell is wrong with Jerry Jones? Upgraded Zeke and Dowdle with Williams and Miles Sanders? Seriously? Cowboys spent 5th and 7th round picks on Rbs, but they don't appear to be the main starters (make league-min money). No guarantee Williams does anything with his new starting gig despite lack of competition but we're talking about a 10th rd fantasy pick here and the Cowboys have a decent offense. Feels like a decent dart throw. Thoughts? Which mid to late Rbs are yall eyeballing?

Fair enough. Fields actually did better than I remembered... 10 Tds in 6 games is 28.3 for a full season - though half were rushing which ain't good news for Hall. Obviously, all the Eagles players thrived because they're good all around (including Qb) - led league in possession time, 7th in first downs & offensive scoring, etc. So at the end of the day... are you buying Hall at adp (Rb15+-)? In spite of stacked fronts (which apparently mean nothing), an offense that probably won't score much, get few 1st downs, and a team projected to win 5.5 games? Not to mention Fields probably vultures 100 carries and some of the few scoring chances they do get.?.
-
Herbert got all that usage and racked up all those yards - never better than Rb 41 ppg ('23). Everyone suffers from bad Qb play. That's a Qb issue.
-
Detroit lost the o-coordinator and are re-shuffling the o-line. Makes sense the market is baking in some discount. But 12th to undrafted? Seems the market went way too far. Though it's hard to discuss Qbs because every league is so different ... 4 vs 6 pt pass Tds, pass yardage pts, completion pts (yes it's a thing). Even then, I don't get the Goff hate. Maybe it has something to do with having one of the worst names in football.

Israel's quest for justice exposes Hamas' systematic sexual violence campaign during October 7 massacre
GobbleDog replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
I have as much love for Palestinians as they do for Americans (remember their 9/11 dancing?"). Nobody would be surprised if "Hamas systematic sex violence" is true - probably is knowing them. Despite the fact that Israel is more than happy for you to hear it in order soften the impact of their own genocide. I supported Israel's initial reaction to the Hamas attack - any country would retaliate like that. However, as a normal human I refuse to support starving a population to death, withholding medicine/vital supplies, and mass-bombing civilians just to kill a couple fighters. We're talking little kids and regular civilians. Don't know what the answer to removing Hamas is, but this can't be it. Israel's actions over the past year are sickening and forever altered the way I think of Israeli's. My President apparently supports this garbage - I sure as hell don't. -
Boise State to the NFL and fantasy Rb 5 his rook year... with the Raiders no less. Not this guy. At least Bijan played for Texas.
-
There's a Qb which Vegas o/u odds set as the third highest passing yards and third highest passing Tds this year. Finished top 10 among Qbs for three straight years (varies on scoring). Being drafted anywhere from 12th rd to undrafted in some mocks. Who is this incredible value? Jared Goff

Wait, that was a jab at me wasn't it? Low blow weepaws.

I started this thread back in early May and Breece Hall looked decent at his adp then... fast-forward to mid-July and think I'm out. Talented player and had respectable (not great - not bad) metrics last year. Probably gets a ton of receptions again so even if he stinks, he shouldn't be that bad. But ... Justin Fields. I foresee a lot of stacked 8 man-fronts eyeing Hall every play. Last year with Rodgers, Hall only faced stacked fronts 6.2% of the time (extremely low). Fields only played 10 games in Pitt, but Najee finished with 13.7% stacked fronts. Go back to '23 when Fields was in Chicago... Khalil Herbert faced 31.1%. Defenses don't respect Fields and neither do I. Some wonder if the Jets are in tank for Manning mode. Vegas has their o/u wins at ... 5.5. Gonna be a long year for the J-E-T-S and I'm not going down with that ship. Think I'll look elsewhere at that adp.
