  1. I've been working out this concept for a while and would love any feedback from you guys. It's a game by game analysis tool, very ideal for single game DFS player selection but also super useful (I would hope) for all types of leagues where you just want an overview of some matchup data. My idea was to break away from spreadsheets and give a little more graphical insight into player impacts based on their status (out, questionable etc...). The site is pupstatus.com and you can see a quick intro video here (missing some newer features, but the general concept is there). Thank you in advance for taking the time to check it out!

    Daily Fantasy Sports Thread

Don't recall ever seeing one on here, although I took a break from posting here for a while. Im sure there is plenty of Daily Football talk on the main bored but im interested in discussing all sports. I also know we had a thread at the closet but that was also devoted to football. So who plays? Where do you play? how do you play? Do you play for shiits and giggles or do you play to win serious cash? Strategeries? I used to play at Fan Duel but decided I wanted the option of daily fantasy golf and they don't offer it, or at least did not offer it when I quit. So I recently signed up and deposited on Draft Kings. Been playing NBA and now MLB. Got my arse handed to me 2 weeks ago in golf but placed 2nd out of 50 in a Masters 50/50 (top half double up)...wish it had been a tournament. Been playing real small and only 50/50's. 5 to win 9, 10 to win 18. The rake is kind of outrageous, imo but was the same at Fan Duel. Im up a whopping 35 dollars since April 1st! What I've learned from my time playing at both sites: NFL is the hardest to win. You may know more about football than any other sport but FF popularity means its much harder to get a leg up on the competition. People have all week to set a lineup and its very easy to stay on top of injuries. NBA and MLB are much easier. If you know sports and can check your phone once or twice during the day (at least once before the match starts) you can make sure your lineup is all active Tournaments in general are a waste of $. The allure of winning 5k off a 3 dollar entry is strong but the odds are so slim. I think I finished 5th once in an NBA tournament on Fan Duel but usually either did not cash or made like 2 dollars. Head 2 head and 50/50's seem to be the easiest way to win. Just be smarter at building a lineup than half your competition and you can "double" your money. Minus the rake of course. These guys who make a living playing Daily Fantasy seem to stick to head to head and 50/50's but they submit tons of matches. You'll see head to head versus "PlayerX (8)" and you know he has 8 head to head matches posted for that buy in amount and im sure even more at other buy in levels. Tips for NBA: Season is more or less over but I found the key to building a good NBA lineup was big men and PG's. Double Double guys. big men who rebound. check rotoworld and find out players who are sitting and use that info to grab 2-3 cheap fill-ins. Example: Demarcus Cousins is out, play Jason Thompson. He comes cheap and leaves you with plenty of Salary to grab superstars elsewhere. rebounds and assists are worth more than points scored so ambiguous positions like G, F and Util should be filled with PG's and PF's. guys who dish out assists and grab rebounds. These guys are also more likely to pick up steals and blocks than a SG or SF is. Aside from Lebron, Harden, Kawhi Leonard and a select few, most SGs and SFs are limited in the categories they produce in. This does not mean to disregard SG and SF and go cheap. It actually means that on nights when Harden, Lebron, etc are playing, it pays to have guys like that. The gap between them and a "fill in" SG or SF is usually bigger than the gap between lets say Blake Griffin and a fill in PF like Jason Thompson. Try to stack players in games you expect to be high scoring and close. Blowouts can kill you if players rest the whole 4th Q. Tips for MLB All about pitchers and matchups. Build your team around your two SP's. This doesn't always have to be the crazy expensive Scherzers and King Felix's either. I actually prefer to find a good pitcher who can strike people out, playing at home or in a pitcher friendly park against a bad team. (Kazmir in the season opener against Texas was a good example) but if you need to go expensive then go expensive. Unlike basketball, you don't need to stack you baseball hitters with s many top names as you can. For hitters, look for guys playing well, going up against bad pitchers in hitters parks like colorado, houston etc etc. You're going to want one or two Miguel Cabreras and Troy Tulowitzkis but there are plenty of cheaply priced hitters with great match ups to exploit. useful site - http://www.rotowire.com/basketball/nba_lineups.htm
