Dan Sez 0 Posted August 25, 2003 from the rules Free Agency 1. A blind bid system of free agent access is open each week of NFL regular season games (17 weeks). 2. FA Submission deadline: midnight Eastern Coast time of every Thursday following each one of the NFL regular season games. So the first FA blind bid will be executed on the evening of Sept 11th. There is no free agency or waiver (no need to cut) between the end of the draft and the opening week of games. You will need at least one PK and one DT if you wish to score points at those positions. Dan Sez 0 Posted August 25, 2003 from the rules 3. Each team starts the Active Season with 17 points. 4. The minimum bid on a free agent is 1 point. A team may bid all their points on one player. You can bid all of your points on one player if you wish. If/when you run out of free agent points, the only way you can get more is thru trades.
whoisjgalt 0 Posted August 25, 2003 Dan Sez: So the first FA blind bid will be executed on the evening of Sept 11th. Shouldn't we maybe consider doing this Wednesday evenings? That way no schedule adjustments for weeks with Thursday games?
Dan Sez 0 Posted August 25, 2003 from the rules 5. FA points maybe included in trades with draft picks and/or players during the Active Season. 6. FA points alone cannot be traded directly between players. A team can not just give FA points away directly but they can "give" FA points by trading 3 FA points for Neil Rackers (as an example). You can also trade FA points for future draft picks.

That way no schedule adjustments for weeks with Thursday games? There are more and more Thursday night games. But we generally don't get solid injury reports until Thursday. We can talk about it. What does the group think? Earlier with less info, later with a little more info but bumping into one game occasionally...

Count me in the group that says "earlier with less info but less need for rescheduling".
Longhorndd 0 Posted August 25, 2003 Either way is fine...if I had to pick one, I would say Wednesday night...gives us Thursday and Friday and Saturday. I know I don't handle much of this at home so for me Thursday night would give me only one day.
Hog Chow 0 Posted August 25, 2003 Thursday's are standard in all the leagues I am in, so I say leave it at Thursday.
Know Doubt 0 Posted August 25, 2003 Abstain, this is all new to me. Never been in a league like this before, so I'll go with the flow.
FourTwoOh 0 Posted August 26, 2003 No biggie either way. I guess I'd choose more info, so Thursday.

Pale Rider 0 Posted September 8, 2003 Was the day officially decided upon, is the deadline Wednesday or Thursday...if this has been addressed in another thread, I didn't see it and I was just wanting some clarification! Thanks!
Dan Sez 0 Posted September 8, 2003 With as large of rosters as we have, plus you do not have to cut players as the season progresses, I really don't think the Thursday Night games will be a cause of problems. The only potential would be the opening weekend and we do not have Pre-Season Free Agency, so that one doesn't even factor into this. You will get the results on Friday (lets set the deadline for posting results to Pacific Time since our FA Czar/VCommish is on the west coast). We should get the results in time for teams to use them for any Saturday, Sunday or Monday games. I think we should leave it on Thursdays and if it creates a problem, then we can readdress it in the Feb convention.
