Zap 0 Posted November 4, 2003 by: Shark Jumpers (satori85) Nov 4, 8:13 am PST: The only two teams I have lost to are the only two teams that have scored more points than mine. Next up is a trap game against the Dogs who, although they are in dire straits in terms of their record, have only scored 6 points per game fewer than the Shark Jumpers. And Shannon Sharpe's on a bye, so there goes my 6 points. Just being a good moderator and moving this to the proper forum.
Zap 0 Posted November 4, 2003 Despite my efforts to remove luck from this league, you are lucky. Seriously, I am very happy with that trade now. I beleive Warrick has blossomed in Cincy and will "hang with" CJ the rest of the way, if not outproduce him. I'm biting the bye week bullet with Portis, but Bennett is about to take charge in Minny as I hoped. I thought that picks trade worked to your favor in the beginning of the season and that was when I had big doubts about SDavis. Your's sir, is the team to beat. Thank God, you've exhausted your rightful share of luck. wink
t.j 35 Posted November 4, 2003 Thanks dogg. I was going to move it myself but I did not have the power to delete the thread from the Yahoo site. I posted it there when the fftodayforums were down. What's this about luck?!?@# Granted, FF is 50% luck in general, but my team has scored a lot of points and been consistent about it. The only week I consider myself lucky was against FourTwoUh-Oh, so if I should be 6-3 instead of 7-2, I have only one thing to say about that: code: P.S. There is still some luck left in this shark pool
t.j 35 Posted November 4, 2003 Oh, and who trades Clinton Portis? Honestly? Talk about luck...
Sisters of No Mercy 0 Posted November 4, 2003 A guy who needs help at other positions, smart arse...my WR situation was not strong enough to get me over the .500 mark, let alone my RB core. With the two deals I made last week, I have a much stronger overall starting unit. If I can just get some consistancy out of the QB position, I can definitly make a run here. Trading is always risky buisness, and sometimes ya gotta give up a big name to make your team better overall. Portis doesn't automatically equal a win every week....as witnessed by this weeks scores...
Diesel07 0 Posted November 4, 2003 Im with sister on that one. He did get the better end of the deal, IMO. CJ is flat out "NASTY". I wanted him and offered L. Coles str8 up for him, but Zap didnt bite . Anywho, Fred Taylor will give you similar stats to CP, IMO. You upp your WR, with one of the best WR in the league. You have to be a man to make a trade....Heh. Look at my trade. Who would trade T.H and L. Coles for Santana and Duece, who has a tough schedule (if thats what you want to call it) ahead of him? I did that ONLY because i knew what he did to them last year and knew Pennington was comming back. Oh yea, the presence of Mr. Mcgahee had the most to do with it
t.j 35 Posted November 4, 2003 Diesel07:Anywho, Fred Taylor will give you similar stats to CP, IMO. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. I fear that Prozac will win the league thanks to this deal. You have to be a man to make a trade....Heh.Heh. I made the first trade of the season, remember? Everyone else was trying to get a 4th rounder back from Friars in addition to the 1st but I took the trade as it was. People didn't think I got the better end of the trade at the time. We will see. Don't tell me about making trades! Who would trade T.H and L. Coles for Santana and Duece, who has a tough schedule (if thats what you want to call it) ahead of him?Not me! I own McGahee in my other league... a keeper league... I'm not expecting him to do anything significant this fantasy season.
Diesel07 0 Posted November 5, 2003 wutever dood i never addressed you specifically about making trades. ill let my moves speak for myself! I guess trading for Duece was stupid, just like taking Culpepper in the 2nd round too huh I guess ill just have to hand you another loss like i did earlier in the season! Zap 0 Posted November 5, 2003 After one week, Portis is up 7 points on Taylor and Warrick is up 4 on CJ. And don't forget I added Kitna for this week in particular. The trade didn't cause my loss. No combo of any players involved would have saved me last week, and I'm probably up against it again this week. Then, we'll see from there where the chips fall. I'm confident I added 60 points to my team's total for the rest of the season, and will track the deal henceforth. I'm not confident the deal will win me the league, but I sure hope so! AND, YES! Culpepper in the 2nd round was a bad pick. You could have had Moss in the 2nd and more than likely CPep in the 3rd, or many other QBs that are running neck and neck with Daunte later. Sheesh, you could have followed Moss in the 2nd with Holt in the 3rd instead of Ward, but hindsight is... just that. Okay now. Everybody play nice. I will be gone until Thursday. Off to LA LA land. Too bad the Lakers are road trippin'. Think they'll go undefeated? wink
Diesel07 0 Posted November 5, 2003 Yah, i was going to take Moss. It was one click away, than i thought since Vick was out, the mobile QB's were going to go early and i wanted one who racked up rushing yards. I know i could of took holt, but so could of the other 7 guys before me. I didnt expect him to blow up like he did with Bulger at QB. This is the only league where i drafted a QB in rd 2. Im not complaining though, im happy with my team and performance thus far.
t.j 35 Posted November 5, 2003 Diesel07:I didnt expect him to blow up like he did with Bulger at QB. Especially since Warner was the starter at the time we drafted. And I agree with Zap that Culpepper was a bad pick. But, you could have done worse there, also.
Diesel07 0 Posted November 5, 2003 it was bad, but i did still beat you , right?
