PowerBroker 0 Posted March 15, 2006 What is the hold up?
Canoman 0 Posted March 15, 2006 My guess is they want to see if they can sign TO. If they can't, then they'll make a move for Vinateri. I'm not sure of their current cap situation... Maybe they can't afford both, so they're looking at all their options.
Cruzer 1,996 Posted March 15, 2006 $3 million bucks - that's figure it's going to take for him to leave the Pats allegedly. As much as Dallas says they want a big-time kicker, they ain't paying $3 mil for one. Peter King was talking to Norm Hitzges here in Dallas this morning - he says the likely scenerio is that Miami cuts Mare, they sign Vjagt and Mare comes to Dallas. My guess is they want to see if they can sign TO. If they can't, then they'll make a move for Vinateri. I'm not sure of their current cap situation... Maybe they can't afford both, so they're looking at all their options. These two moves are not dependent on each other - it's simply a matter of what Dallas wants to pay for a kicker. Dallas is in an incredible position in that they have a ton of cash and almost more cap space than anybody to play with.

Deadpool 0 Posted March 17, 2006 Jones has said that he will not set the market for a kicker. Vinateri would be nice, but someone will probably over-pay for him. Mare is a more likely possibility.
Sho Nuff 720 Posted March 17, 2006 Looking more like Green Bay will sign him while Dallas is looking at Josh Brown.
Guest tiki_gods Posted March 17, 2006 Vinateri signs with the Packers by Monday. His former agent is recruiting him to the Packers. Plus he is from South Dakota.

I think he is worth a 7th round pick which is what it would take to get him from Seattle.
Cruzer 1,996 Posted March 17, 2006 To be honest, this is the first I've heard about Brown. But considering where this team is at, I'd gladly give up a 7th round pick for him. I'd also be very interested in Mare.
