Message for Philly fans sick of Howard Asskin!

950 is the new sports talk station in town.....610 is still the best for mid day (Ant and Mike are MUCH better then that blow hard jacka$$ Jim Rome) but you can get Jody MacDonald for the drive home instead of listeningg to Asskin call every caller that disagrees with him a "dope" and ride Andy Reid's jock for the whole show!

Same here....I recently heard Asskin on the crossover from Mike and Ant has been going out of his way to tell who will listen that he is "the number one afternoon show in Philly"......I really hope Jody and company can start to cut into those numbers!

You guys are missing the boat. Kidd Chris is who to listen to during afternoon drive. Eskin's son works at 'YSP, and gives some insight to his dad's thought process.

 

Eskin is a one trick pony with his shtick. Or at least used to be. He used to say whatever he can to rile up the masses, no matter how stupid it was. Now, he simply becomes buddies with front offices or coaches, etc, and kisses ass on the air. Larry Bowa, Larry Brown, Andy Reid, Jeffrey Luried, Ken Hitchcock, and on and on and on.

I agree with your assessment but how are we "missing the boat". Who wants to listen to a phoney that is in bed with the Pro team's management and basically provides more misinformation then anything remotely useful? For the life of me, I don't know how anyone can stand hearing that pompus jerk speak for more then 10 minutes!

 

The fact that his son now has a gig (I'm sure as a favor to his pops) at WYSP also makes me sick!

i'll have to give Jody a try this afternoon. I just spent 10 or 20 minutes listening to Tony Bruno (i think that's what his name was) on there though, and i feel like slitting my wrists. He was painfully bad... But Mike and Ant are DEFINITELY the best ones to listen to during the day... I love the bracket of "128" they got going on right now...

950's been around for a while now. I still listen to 610 a lot, if for nothing else than to see what kind of idiocy Cataldi spouts off about. He's as dumb as his Dirty Thirty bunch. As for Eskin, I kinda like him. He only calls those people dopes, that for the most part, really are dopes. And I feel he is pretty knowledgeable (at least for Philly sports, not so much around the league) and he does have an inside track and usually has the scoop before others do.

 

As for 950, Bruno is on to late for me to hear, Rome is but I really like Jody's show. And on 610 I like Anthony and Glen as well. Not that crazy about Missanelli.
