NFL Draft Weekend Team Thread: Tennessee Titans

Recommended Posts

Vince had arrived in Nashville Saturday night, wasting no time joining the coaching staff. I'll take that as a good sign. Fischer said they will not rush him into action. I'll say the only way he sees action this year is if Voleck goes down.

I just don't see how McNair can stay here- more than the money issue, he needs a multi year deal, and the Titans just cannot do that with the signing of VY.

If White is indeed upset that he was passed up and went this late, he may well feel the need to show teams they were wrong to pass on him. 24 TDs and no fumbles last year? Titan's had 8 rushing TDs last year.

This guy has the potential to make an impact, this year.

I'm pretty excited about day one.

ESPN Reporting Ravens would like permission to talk with McNair.

-- McNair Given Permission to Talk to Ravens --

Mon May 1, 2006 --from FFMastermind.com

The Baltimore Sun reports QB Steve McNair was granted permission to talk with the Ravens Sunday, which likely marks the first step toward the two-time Pro Bowl quarterback's joining the team. According to a league source, McNair's agent seemed "agreeable" to a deal offered by the Ravens during initial negotiations. In order to sign McNair, the Ravens would have to either trade a 2007 draft pick for him or wait until the Tennessee Titans release him. It could take weeks to resolve, because the teams aren't likely to come to quick agreement on an equitable trade, the source said. "Stay tuned," Ravens HC Brian Billick said. The Ravens have the leverage in this situation, because the Titans have less than $500,000 in salary-cap room. That means Tennessee can't sign a free agent or any of their draft picks until they reduce or shed McNair's $23.46 million cap number. The only incentive for the Ravens to make a trade is they would acquire McNair quicker, giving him more time to learn the offensive system.
