Yo Son!!! 0 Posted April 29, 2006 With all the moves Denver made today, none of them left them with an upgrade over the pairing of Tatum Bell or Ron Dayne. Is there any other moves they can make that prevent either of the 2 from being Denvers' top RB. Also, if so, which one is most likely to land the main role? Orgazmo 2 Posted April 29, 2006 Maurice Drew and Norwood have the ability to excel in Denver's system.
Tobex 0 Posted April 29, 2006 Maurice Drew and Norwood have the ability to excel in Denver's system. Isn't Drew pretty small height-wise? Not that he can't succeed, but not many that small have. What about Calhoun? Not sure if he's a good fit for them or not. I'd still like to see them grab a safety too.

The only worry about his height would be in regards to blocking, but I'm guessing its pretty easy to outshine Bell in that department.
jocstrap 8 Posted April 29, 2006 I have season tickets to MISS ST games and Norwood can flat out play. His team sucked yet he was 1000 yards the last two seasons on the 2nd worst sec team. He can also fly at 4.4 forty. I would love to see this guy at Mile High!

Yo Son!!! 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Welp. Looks like Tate&Ron Inc. owners got past Norwood and M. Drew. Any other possible threats? The early news of Denver having confidence in Ron Dayne turned out to be true after all.
CA_7 0 Posted April 30, 2006 I believe Jerome Harrison and Wali Lundy are still on the board although things are looking good for the RBBC combo of Dayne and Bell
Ignignokt 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Fwiw (prolly little), read a trade rumor earlier in the day that had Barlow going to DEN. Dunno what the rest of the deal was tho, so I dunno if that's no longer viable.
Yo Son!!! 0 Posted April 30, 2006 yea, I just checked through the list of remaining available RBs and those would appear to be the only remote possibilities. Although I doubt any of the remaining players would pose a serious threat to the current dynamic duo. anyway... Obviously it still a little too early to tell who will eventually be the main back in Denver, but for now, who is the more valuable of the 2...Bell or Dayne? Rocky Mountain News said just last week that Dayne was going to be slotted as the primary back going into camp. Don't know if that's just a ploy to try getting Bell motivated, but they did the same last year with Anderson and he never let go of the job. I'm guessing they'll use them like last year, unless they make a trade. Together they'll be fine for the Broncos, but from a fantasy perspective, I was hoping they'd draft somebody to take over the starting job.
jocstrap 8 Posted April 30, 2006 As of now Bell looks to be the main man - 10td's + if they don't get anyone sunday. I just can't believe Dayne is even in this conversation but he might vulture the 1 and 2 yard td's from bell.
stonecoldsoonerfan 0 Posted April 30, 2006 bell will get hurt before half the season is over. i'll be targeting dane in the mid-latter rounds myself. i think he'll be the starter before the season is over.
CA_7 0 Posted May 2, 2006 Michael Bell from UofArizona just signed with Denver. Definitely a longshot but someone worth watching in larger leagues.
kraziness 0 Posted May 2, 2006 Didn't they draft a RB in the 3rd last year? I wonder if they're going to try to get him some carries this year...
