Prosecutor fell a little short on original Limbaugh claims

Recommended Posts

Never been a big fan of Rush, and haven't heard a word of his on the radio for about 5 years, but this needs to be pointed out in light of the other thread here.

Once the prosecutor got ahold of Rush's medical records he went on the record claiming Rush was guilty of more than 10 FELONY counts, including money laundering.

What happened to all his evidence? Why did he let Rush off scott free?

It now appears James Martz, the prosecutor who headed the investigation into Limbaugh's prescription drug use, was bluffing when he said that medical records "indicate evidence that would support in excess of 10 felony counts for violations."

Not withstanding WHO this happened to----- does any one else get really bothered by the abuses of these prosecutors?

I am continually seeing these far reaching "investigations" for name benefit only. Anyone of us normal people would not be able to defend ourselves w/o going bankrupt.

Limbaugh Drug Deal: Charges of drug fraud will be permanently dropped against Rush Limbaugh, who is out of jail on bail, providing he pays the State of Florida $30,000 and agrees to meet regularly with a drug therapist. Jeb Bush announced that the Limbaugh deal will be provided to every Florida resident accused of drug fraud in the future

"Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be

convicted and they ought to be sent up."

-- Rush Limbaugh. October 5, 1995 show transcript.

"What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use, too many whites are getting away with drug sales, too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too."

-- Rush Limbaugh. October 5, 1995 show transcript.

"It's kind of like sentencing. A lot of people say that we have a heavy sentence for this crime and a light sentence for another crime, and what we ought to do is reduce the heavy sentence so it's more in line with the other. Wrong. In most cases we ought to increase the light sentence and make it compatible with the heavy sentence, and be serious about punishment because we are becoming too tolerant as a society, folks, especially of crime, in too many parts of the country."

-- Rush Limbaugh. October 5, 1995 show transcript.

“The agreement that we entered into makes good common sense. The idea is to help the person overcome the addiction … There should be a recognition that people like Rush really should not be prosecuted.”

-- Limbaugh Attorney Roy Black. April 29. 2006
