Laurence Maroney Highlight Reel

Recommended Posts

Not sure that clip helps Maroney.

After watching that, only thing I came away with was the fact that o-line was a beast.

Mornoey only scored 3 TDs all season?

Where's the break away speed? Got caught from behind.

Saw them replay the one where he just blazes by Nagata.

Overall

Exciting stuff as a Pats fan. Kind of reminds me of Dillon with a little more speed to the outside and probably not as much power. Nice package of inside and outside moves with the ability to take a hit. He looks like his style can translate to those cold/bad weather games in New England. Also, I like the fact there isn't a "look at me" celebration after he gets in the end zone.

He is a one cut runner without much breakaway speed. It looks like he will be a good inside runner, but at the same time I wouldn't expect any long touchdown runs. He comes down rather easily in the open field and hardly ever outran college players. I expect him to be a better NFL running back than fantasy running back as I believe he will control the line of scrimmage but not have gaudy numbers.

he's still better than Addai <_<

Sure he is, in your twisted, biased, hating mind.

Mulroney will be the second best back in the draft when looking back 10 years from now. First will be Bush. Mulroney and te Pats are a perfect fit. With Dillons injuries that he seems to come across each year Mulroney will get plenty of playing time and may come close to 1000 yards this year.

Why isnt he better? There must be a lot of twisted, biased minds out there.

Where are you reading that he only scored 3 TD's last season?

I just notice that he goes to the sideline and gets run down from behind a lot, and this is a highlight reel. I think Moroney is a great RB, that is a perfect fit for NE. But, this reel did him no justice. I counted only three TDs, maybe more.

Including Belichick, who obviously isn't as smart as LSUTiger.

Man tough room. I was impressed by the highlight reel. Yes the oline created good holes for him but his vision and correspnding ability to "get small' and accelerate through small spaces was what impressed me most. I liked him as the #2 back out of this years class and am glad that BB validated my feeling when most people hadn't tgged him as the #2 RB. He is going into a great situation with a good team and an aging vet in front of him... he is definitely on my sleeper watch.

Was Lawerence "Mulroney" Maroney even touched within the 1st ten yards of any play on that reel?

Hats off to his OL!

And Bill Polian is dumb as a brick when it comes to RBs????

...Thurman Thomas

...Edgerrin James

I like Maroney, but Belicheck also picked backs like

...J.R. Redman

...Kevin Faulk

...Touchdown Tommy Vardell

I like Addai more than Maroney, though I must admit if Maroney played with the same consistent level of aggressiveness as Addai when it comes to blocking, receiving, and finishing runs it would be a different story.

Faulk wasn't a Belichick pick. The three he picked were Pass, Redmond and Cobbs while with the Pats. Pass has been a solid contributor for his draft position. Redmond showed flashes early (he was a key part of the drive against the Rams) than disapperared and Cobbs was a non-entity from the get go. Yet, Maroney is the first projected stud RB he has picked (Pass was a #7, Redmond was a #3 and Cobbs a #4). While the Pats have had their share of misses like everyone else they've hit gold in the first round selecting Seymour, Graham, Warren, Wilfork, Watson and Mankins during the BB era. IMO only Graham hasn't lived up to the hype (Watson is still a work in progress but it's very obvious to see what they think they got) but he's still been a very important cog in two championships.

Good to see you Boston!

I was just picking on the RBs-choice, not overall selection of positions. I just thought it was kind of funny to laud Belicheck and company for their choices and then imply Addai was not a good selection due to Belichek's acumen, although one of the more astute personnel men in the leauge drafted Addai.

Did I watch the same video or do you consider a Crown Victoria small?
