Funny but true 2007 Super Bowl article

He's hardly going out on a limb with those picks. Miami is the only team in there that can be reasonably expected to finish over .500.

2. Philadelphia: If I'm an Eagles fan, I have some major concerns about this offense. It's starting to look a lot like it did back in the days before Terrell Owens blew into town.
Like it did when they went to 3 Consecutive Championship games? That ain't chopped liver baby. I'll take it. Then it's just a small step from there.

Like when they used to win the NFC East by default because the rest of the division sucked? Those days are over.

And those other teams were only good last year b/c of the Eagles problems. They regain their dominance this year.

I want some of what this guy's smoking.

Eagles should be around last in their division. Not that they suck, but the other teams in their division are just better.

5. Minnesota: As much as I like new head coach Brad Childress, I have to question his personnel on offense. He needs Chester Taylor -- or someone else -- to prove the running game will be reliable. He needs Troy Williamson, last year's first-round pick, to mature into a legitimate big-play threat at receiver, especially now that Nate Burleson has moved on to Seattle. He also needs quarterback Brad Johnson, who turns 38 this season, to prove that he's still effective. Those are a lot of needs for a team that finished with a flourish in 2005 (the Vikings won seven of their final nine). It's unlikely that it'll find answers to all of them.

I think this one's kinda lame. Why does Brad Johnson have anything left to prove? :D The guy's solid, and age ain't nothin but a number for a QB. So long as he's got a good OL he should be fine. Not like the team expects him to carry the offense.

As for Burleson, I seem to recall KRob breaking out a little last year, and they still have MRob and TTaylor.

They're fine at WR. Then throw Wiggens & CTaylor into the mix, and they have plenty of receiving talent.

Some of them made sense, but I don't see much substance in his ripping on what is, IMO, a successfully rebuilt Vikings team.

Oh, and finally they won 7 of their last 9 because Brad Johnson came in and gave them consistent play - so again, what's he got to prove?

Wrong. San Diego will finish over .500

reminds me of a blurb I saw in tuesday morning quarterback, where he said jim reineking of fox sports last year predicted five teams that would fall in 2005. three of those teams were the broncos, the seahawks, and yep, the steelers (oddly enough, that article is no longer in fox sports's archives).

given the turbulent nature of the nfl, odds are pretty good that at least one of these five wind up in the super bowl.

Haven't looked at their schedule, but I'm not so sure. Didn't finish last season with a bang. First year QBs don't generally take their teams to the playoffs. WR still a weakness and the offensive line wasn't the best at pass blocking last year.

Of course, they do get Oaktown twice.
