JT 137 Posted June 11, 2006 George Costanza's gotta be right up there at the top.(Oops, supposed to be in the NFL) Yeah, but he's no Ray McKigney
Franknbeans 46 Posted June 11, 2006 I think you also have to consider the type of routes these guys run. I'd love to see one of these stat-heavy analysts breakdown the % of routes they ran because the point about Lloyd or Fitz making some sick catches has merit. Jason Witten probably doesn't have the same frequency of opportunities with as high a degree of difficulty. Numbers have the merit, but I think they need to look deeper at the numbers too. Chad Johnson often has a lot of drops, but he has a ton of targets. What kind of routes did he drop? Did they have a higher degree of difficulty than a swing pass, short hitch, or wide open deep ball? Good stuff on this post, but just another thing to consider... drops by route stats Daddy rikes
Ilov80s 0 Posted June 11, 2006 Roy Williams has to be right up there. The guy can catch anything with one hand.
heyhey 0 Posted June 11, 2006 Easily Marvin Harrison.
GhostofMeanMachine99 1 Posted June 12, 2006 TJH caught 78 passes last year. That's close enough to #1 WR numbers for the percentages to count. If he caught 40 passes, you'd have a point. At 78, the numbers bear relevance. Good point.
Jokers 0 Posted June 12, 2006 TJH caught 78 passes last year. That's close enough to #1 WR numbers for the percentages to count. If he caught 40 passes, you'd have a point. At 78, the numbers bear relevance. I think some consideration should be given to who is covering. Harrison (and Chad Johnson) get the best DBs and double coverage, and still pull it off. Although I'm sure Housh has great hands and makes the best of his oppourtunities, he really hasn't had to battle the best in most of his games.
