ellisonb11 0 Posted June 9, 2006 both DD and willis mcgahee were very disappointing to fantasy football owners last year, but is this coming year going to be a comeback? DD is dropping to the early 2nd round and mcgahee is dropping to early-mid 2nd round this year in mocks. what do you guys expect from them this year. what is their value? both are on struggling teams, but can they ignite their offenses? give me your opinions and discuss. dreadlocks34 0 Posted June 9, 2006 Looking at what Gary Kubiak's track record with running backs in his offenses is, I would say Davis could be darn good if he stays on the field.
gatorbait7391 0 Posted June 10, 2006 I like both this year. Willis should get 25-30 touches a game and his share of tds. Also DD will get all goaline carries and cathes in the backfield to hopefully have a solid year. I like them both this year and would love to have them on my squad! Soggy Bottom Boys 0 Posted June 10, 2006 you can't complain about a RB getting 300-320 touches a year what he does with them is another story - think 1200 yards and 8-10 TD's at least IMO
lechuza 0 Posted June 10, 2006 i think that both are in for big years. Willis wasn't used correctly by an awful mike mularkey coaching staff. I think this year Willis will have much better fantasy stats. DD should continue to do with with Kubiak. Kubiak doesnt have the O line like he did in denver, but he has a better RB in Davis. burgerific 0 Posted June 10, 2006 Doesn't a "comeback" infer that somebody once had a great career? Last time I checked, neither one of these guys has been able to put together a spetacular season yet.

Steel City Blues 0 Posted June 10, 2006 DD & Willie are both good backs on craptastic teams with some injury concern. Makes perfect sense to draft these guys late first/early to mid 2nd. The players drafted ahead of them are also very talented, but generally on better teams.

Yes but everyone knows he wont stay on the field , the guy is already having problems ( and it s just May ).
unckeyherb 2 Posted June 10, 2006 2 years ago mcgahee scored like 13 tds and 1200 yards in 8 games! I've also read that they are working to get him involved more with the passing game, which would definitely help his stats. However I've also read recently that he has missed a BUNCH of Voluntary Team activities. You would think that after his performance last year resembling a monkey fukcing a football he might show some initiative and get his arse on the field. Either way I am hoping for a resurgence of his better playing abilities. Dom...who knows. When healthy (and now with an improved Texans team) he should perform well. Parja 0 Posted June 10, 2006 The problem I see with both of them is they don't have a QB (or QBs in the case of Buffalo) that scares a defense. Given, I think much of the problem in Houston is the lack of O-line, but still. Unless the QBs can have some success and can keep the defenses honest, I see both of these guys having a rough time again this year.

Perhaps I should re-think my shitty keepers, Julius and McGahee
jpcdds 26 Posted June 10, 2006 If you look at Dom's numbers they really weren't that bad. He had 1300+ combined yds and 6 total td's in 11 games...4 of those td's were in the air...but i don't care if my guy scores by land air or sea...as long as he gets in!!! Those #'s over 16 games is 1900 combined yds and 9 tds...not too shabby especially on that pitifull team....yes i understand he needs to play in all 16 games!!! In his last 4 starts he had 600 combined (430 rushing) and 3 tds...so he may have started to hit his stride much like 2004 until the knee gave out... This yr...they have more talent and weapons on offense...if he can stay healthy...2000 combined yds and 10-12 tds shouldn't be a problem!
hipcheck 0 Posted June 10, 2006 I'd hate to make either of these guys my first round pick, but if you are 8-12 one of them will probably wind up on your squad.
texasmouth 1 Posted June 10, 2006 Dom Davis McGahee McGahee has a bad o line, who knows who the QB is and a horrible head coach. Dom Davis has an improved o-line iwth a new and improved system, a QB who will be much better this year with some protection and some new weapons, and again, great coach taking over the reigns. I totally agree, and I'm a Packer fan. What's there to like about McGahee? If anything that offence is as bad if not worse than last year with Moulds gone. And don't forget about those dynamic Jauron offences. I think Davis can be a steal this year. He won't be healthy all season, but I think with an improved O-line and Moulds to make the D's respect the pass, he will flourish when playing. Just don't know if that's 14 games or 8. He's a risk with big upside.
dreadlocks34 0 Posted June 11, 2006 Yes but everyone knows he wont stay on the field , the guy is already having problems ( and it s just May ). I wouldn't have wanted to be on the field last season either when it appeared my team was tanking games to choose my replacement.
