Bills RB McGahee reports for mini-camp trimmer

Recommended Posts

This news is huge! :wall:

Hardcore reporting by Chris Brown who saw McGahee walk from his car into the building and was able to come to the conclusion that Willis had lost 10-15 pounds. Scoop of a lifetime for this reporter.

"I've been working out in Miami doing everything down there," said McGahee. "I've been doing a lot of running and lifting weights in the heat."

The Bills fourth-year back has a personal trainer and his hard work was evident as Willis showed off a six pack of abs. He also admitted he was carrying less weight than he did in 2005, and hinted he may be even trimmer come training camp.

"I'm leaner and lighter," said McGahee. "I'm going to be even lighter when I come in (for training camp)." :bandana:

Willis is in for a monster year this year...I have absolutely no bias here....

seriously, all words coming out of Bills camp this year mean little until we see these guys on the field with whoever the starting QB is...no matter what kindof shape McGahee is in or how good he may be individually, his success will still be entirely linked to the success of the starting QB there.

This doesnt really move McGahee up on my board considering that IMO the Bills are still very limted offensively and will probably be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season.

He's at what 225 which was around what he was at college.

He was at one point up to 240 last year just running through people.

With our O-LINE alot smaller in size it looks like we will be pulling alot more. no more big bennie anderson or trey teague and mike williams is gone but its looking like our line is

Hopefully he won't get as beat up with his lower weight but able to break away and not lose much in power.

I didnt know he had gained that much weight last season. Maybe this info is a lil more significant than I thought. BTW, what's up with the Bill's O-line and what kind of O are Jauron and company planning to run. Admittedly, the Bills are one team that I have not paid much attn. to this off-season.

Thanks in advance the homer insight.

Yeah, I was shocked last year as well he was at 230 but then after one game last year the local radio guys said he said he was 240. He did look it. He took less of a beating but never ever really broke a long run. Look for him to be knocked out of games this year but hopefully not miss any time the following week I hope (he tends to need to go to the sidelines often)

they do plan on using him more in the passing game, our new OC fairchild said so and McGahee was expressed interest. The line like I said is alot lighter, they do plan on running the ball but depending on the qb he might see 8 man fronts but maybe the pulling guards can get him outside because when willis is outside he's at his best. he also can bounce back between tackles. its going to be an interesting season. I see him as a early 2nd round rb maybe late first good for 1300, 8tds maybe 35 catches im hoping? If Losman starts they'd have to respect the deep ball to evans. I believe McGahee runs better with Losman
