Anaheim, CA (AHN) - NFL officials met with the mayor of Anaheim and business leaders on Thursday to discuss the possibility of the city hosting a new franchise.

NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue and Denver Broncos owner Paul Bowlen met with Anaheim mayor Curt Pringle and Orange County businessmen over dinner regarding a possible expansion. Both NFL representatives also met with Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on Wednesday

According to the AP, the league will finance up to $600 million for construction of new stadiums.

nothing new. I was scared the jags were gonna be there! But thanks to there 12-4 record, doesnt look like that will happen anytime soon.

A 12-4 record, a young team on the upswing and a great home schedule that has the Cowboys, Steelers, Giants, Colts and Patriots coming to Jacksonville. No blackouts last year and the stadium will be sold out for every game this year!

32 teams is enough. If the NFL expands any more, it will water down the product and mess up the balanced divisions and schedule.

I don't like the league going beyond 32 teams at this point.

If you smell relocation, I submit the Vikings who are without a new stadium deal in MN while watching both the Twins and football Gophers get theirs. But hey, if the NFL wants to move you, they have the money to make it happen--even a 12-4 Jags team that might kickstart the LA market.

Los Angeles Lobos.

I, too, hope the league stays at 32 teams.

They will put a team in LA one way or another eventually, but I really hope they only do one team in LA this time. They've been absolute morons insisting on having two teams there in the past. Just get one team and allow it to be a strong, healthy team with a large fan base. If you really want more teams in SoCal then leave the Chargers in San Diego and have yourself a nice LA/SD rivalry.

i completely agree, and i think that's one of the problems with baseball - although it is good for better batting averages and more home runs (something baseball likes to promote).

I used to love a good pitching match, but you just don't get many any more. Every time MLB adds a new team, they have to find 4 new pitchers to be in that rotation - plus closers. There are already alot of teams that can't find 2 good pitchers because there just aren't that many out there...

now you add two teams to the NFL, not only does 34 not divide well for divisions and scheduling, it also means you have to find 2 more quality QBs, 2 more quality RBs (or 4 in todays 2 back systems), 4 WRs, etc...

Granted the NFL is the BEST major league organization out there right now, but i just can't see how they can add teams and still continue to deliver quality products. There are already some games each week that barely anyone cares about except the homers and FF owners of some of the players.

While I think the Jags are still somewhat in the mix as far as relocating to L.A. - it seems to get less and less likely for them as time goes by. Wayne Weaver has said he will not move the team anywhere (not to say he can't sell it though). The teams most likely to move (my opinion) are in order:

1. Buffalo

2. San Diego

3. New Orleans

4. Minnesota

5. Oakland

I believe the Vikings did get their new stadium deal.

And no fockin' way another one of my teams gets stolen! People would get hurt. I'm just starting to get over the Stars moving to Dallas.
