Thin Spirit 0 Posted June 18, 2006 Was at the game myself and the buzz around here for Ricky is just incredible. He wasn't used much in the first half and was usually only in on first down (they play 3-down ball up here), that could effect him somewhat as he doesnt get to pound away at the defense for 3-4 yard carries for 3 downs. Come the second half as he got used to the game he really turned it on, 11 carries for 72 yards...he was starting to hit the outside edge on sweeps (essential in the CFL), and running through defenders. I cannot wait to see him live and in person every game this season, he is only going to get better as each game goes by.

Thin Spirit 0 Posted June 18, 2006 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2489335 "This game is difficult and at any level of professional football you have to be an athlete. You guys might see me as a big football player from the NFL coming here but for me I approach my job more seriously here than I probably did in the NFL. You have to get yourself ready to play, regardless of who you're playing against." Take it for what it's worth.
RW34 0 Posted June 18, 2006 made it to the game too was pretty good performance by ricky, the line hung him out to dry a couple of times but still a good game got my jersey autographed after the game too, surprised a fight didnt break out in the autograph session with all the pushing that was going on

jocstrap 8 Posted June 18, 2006 At least he is still on the field playing somewhere. He very easily could have tucked his tail between his legs and done nothing. So he'll play cfl, train hard in the offseason, be ready for the NFL in 2007, have a solid NFL career of 5 years in a row, nothing fancy, make a couple playoff games, but man what a story this guy could have at the end of it. Imagine the money he could make from his book!
remote controller 143 Posted June 18, 2006 He is trying to stay solvent, both financially, and professionally. He is doing this out of need. I still feel he offers nothing but trouble to any team even considering him in the NFL. You can give him all the props you want. He screwed up, and will continue to do so.
