oban14 0 Posted June 27, 2006 No penalties/lost draft picks. Every year each team gets to keep nine. Right now I'm thinking of keeping the following nine: Roethlisberger, Ben QB PIT Vick, Michael QB ATL Brown, Ronnie RB MIA McGahee, Willis RB BUF Portis, Clinton RB WAS Evans, Lee WR BUF Johnson, Andre WR HOU Gates, Antonio TE SD Winslow, Kellen TE CLE And cutting the following: Fitzpatrick, Ryan QB STL Green, Trent QB KC Perry, Chris RB CIN Lloyd, Brandon WR WAS Mason, Derrick WR BAL McCardell, Keenan WR SD Smith, Rod WR DEN Vanderjagt, Mike K DAL Jaguars, DST DST JAC Williams, Mike WR DET The ones I'm tempted to hold onto are Derrick Mason, Trent Green, and Rod Smith. I have two first round picks and two second round picks in this years draft, but the 90 best players are all going to be gone. I know most people say to cut Winslow and keep Mason or someone else, but I'm 1) worried about how Rivers will do with Gates in SD 2) convined Winslow is a changed man and is going to do some big things in Cleveland. Basically, I intend on trading one of them for at least a first round pick or some quality players down the road. Any advice appreciated... Leave a link and I'll respond to yours. Thanks! famousb 11 Posted June 27, 2006 i'd actually cut Lee "i've got a pathetic QB throwing to me and my buddy Peerless" Evans and keep Derrick "Thank God i'm reunited w/ McNair because i'm his boy" Mason. Mason should have at least 2 more good years in him now that McNair is there, and Evans just hasn't shown it yet with that supporting cast...
sjeffblack 0 Posted June 27, 2006 I'd also think about keeping only 1 QB (or even none). You can always pick up a QB in the draft.
Gepetto 1,292 Posted June 27, 2006 Brown, Ronnie RB MIA Portis, Clinton RB WAS McGahee, Willis RB BUF Gates, Antonio TE SD Vick, Michael QB ATL Johnson, Andre WR HOU Mason, Derrick WR BAL Smith, Rod WR DEN Evans, Lee WR BUF I like Vanderjagt and Jaguars Defense and hope to get them in my draft so I recommend trying to draft them again. You don't need K. Winslow, you've got Gates, and I wouldn't worry about Gates with a new QB, Brees was awful until Gates started helping him out. No reason to keep Winslow for trading, when keeping Rod Smith or D. Mason or any other of these players is much better than Winslow or anyone I imagine you could get for him even if he starts out hot. I recommend you just keep Vick. Both Trent Green and Rothlisburger don't get many touchdown passes as these are both running teams, and I don't like these QBs that much anyway. You can always draft some decent QBs. I really like these 9 I've chosen, solid depth at WR and RB and best TE by far and Vick with all his rushing touchdowns and yards rushing. I think Vick may surprise some people. Just try not to start him against certain teams.
Ainsley 0 Posted June 27, 2006 I'd keep Rod Smith over Evans and Trent Green over Vick. Good luck!
oban14 0 Posted June 28, 2006 Thanks Ainsley and especially Gepetto, you've given me a ton to think about. With two firsts and two seconds I'm sure I could get Roethlisberger back later. I really think that he's poised to be a pretty consistent 30/TD a year guy. I'd keep Rod Smith over Evans and Trent Green over Vick. Good luck!
gocolts 300 Posted June 29, 2006 Keep Mason. Dump a QB or both an/or Winslow Jr. But keep Mason on your team.
