rebooters 1 Posted July 10, 2006 anything to backup your choice?
Cuse9 129 Posted July 10, 2006 I picked Caddy, but I have nothing to back my choice. Ronnie is in a much better situation, but I just think Caddy is alot better of a player. Bottom line comes down to Chris Simms. If he can become a legit threat a qb, then I think Caddy will have a great year. Ronnie's surrounded by great players this year. I think his yards will be way up, but they have alot of goal line options. Chambers & McMichael are great goal line targets and CPepp can run them in. I don't see Brown scoring alot of TD's....10-

rebooters 1 Posted July 10, 2006 true, ronnie might get shorted on some goaline tds but i think he can get a few long ones. he is young and big and still has some breakaway speed. i think we will see some nice tackle breaking and a load of yards out of him. he is the reason that the dolphins can make the playoffs this year. cadillac is awesome too but im just not sure of their whole package like you mention chris simms. IF simms can become a nice QB is a big if so thier will be added pressure on cadillac he might get too many carries and break down like last year. he had a mid season dwell if i can remember right? ellisonb11 0 Posted July 10, 2006 i had to go ronnie. even though he hasnt proven he can carry a load in the nfl, he has shown he can run with the big boys. i also like the way the miami offense is going, with culpepper, chambers, and brown, it could be a well balanced offense. plus, ronnie is guaranteed goaline opportunities. Rookie QB 0 Posted July 10, 2006 Tampa Bay: Carnell Williams + Michael Pittman + Mike Alstott. Miami: Ronnie Brown + Sammie Morris????. I'll take Ronnie Brown.
BumForHire 0 Posted July 10, 2006 Brown doesnt really have any other backs on the team that will consistently serve roles and replace him in any situations. No 3rd down back...no goalline back. Tampa has Alstott and Pittman....goalline vulture and 3rd down reception vulture. Gimme Brown with absolutely no competition for touches.
Raider 84 29 Posted July 10, 2006 Toss up, but Ronnie plays with passion and is in a good situation. Caddy is a stud and should handle 300 carries this year as well. I'll go with Ronnie only because I think he will have more tds.
DaveJ 0 Posted July 10, 2006 I think these two are a pickem situation, just like they were in the draft last year in dynasty leagues. My preference is Brown, simply because of all the crap last year about how he was a backup in college, couldn't handle the load, wasn't an NFL back etc etc etc... I tend to favor the underdog. Brown clearly has the better situation, meaning no other players that will come into the mix. However, I feel that Caddy's situation isn't nearly as complicated as others have mentioned. He didn't show any problem getting into the zone, so Alstott vulturing isn't a concern... I think his role now is more of a short gainer, not an endzone guy. Pittman is clearly the backup and got a lot of time due to injury last year and 3rd downs because Caddy was a rookie. I think if Caddy stays healthy more this year, that Pittmans carries will go down and they will use Caddy in 3rd down and passing situations more since he is the more dynamic player. If I had to pick.. I would go Brown, but I would want either one and actually have both on one team (did some major trading and drafted both last year 1 and 2). g5jamz 0 Posted July 10, 2006 Here's what I wrote on another board..same question. You've two Auburn guys that do well...but can they handle an entire season load of carries. TB has the backups to allow Caddy to rest on unimportant downs. Ronnie doesn't. BUT...the Dolphins are going to have one of the easiest schedules out there. Tough call. I'd take either one, but factor bye week into how it'll affect your current team. This will be your RB1 most likely and you don't want your RB1 and WR1 both out. GhostofMeanMachine99 1 Posted July 10, 2006 Gruden loaded Caddy with carries last year and he flourished (until he was injured). I would expect the same thing again this year, except Pittman should get more PT on third downs. Brown has talent, but the coach hasn't shown the willingness to put the load on his back yet. With that said, I would take Caddy, but I also feel you really can't go wong taking either guy.
