THE NEWS

The hamstring injury that landed Eagles fifth-round draft choice Jeremy Bloom on the PUP list appears to be more severe than anticipated. Bloom, who is most well known for his Olympic skiing career, had an MRI that revealed that the hamstring is torn, not a strained, and likely will require weeks of rehabilitation. Bloom will now miss part or all of training camp and his rookie season appears to be in jeopardy.

Our View

Bloom, who has not played football since 2003, was going to be working primarily as a kick/punt returner for Philly. Bloom is an incredible athlete who posted a blazing 40 time at the combine, and the Eagles were certainly hoping he could make a few big plays this season. Jeremy was initially injured in mini-camp and aggravated the injury while working out with Donovan McNabb in Arizona

how this asssclown got drafted at all is just a mystery to me.

You guys don't have a focking clue what you're talking about. I focking hate CU. But I've seen Bloom play in person and he is without a doubt the fastest player I've ever seen. Watching him on TV doesn't do him justice. When he is on the field, the defense will have to adjust to him. How he lasted until the 4th round, I have no idea.

Also, ALSO!#@$#!!, if you're going to rip him for skiing the past couple years, take into account the fact that he had a choice to play college football for free or sign a seven figure endorsement deal and represent his country in the Olympics.

Jackasses.

Very good rebuttal...Im not going to say that this is good for Bloom but the Eagles can now store him for a year and let him get back into football shape.

I was very happy when the Eagles got him in the 5th round...

Anyone amateur (like most of us) who didnt think he was worth a 5th round gamble doesnt know anything more about football then how to pick LJ with the #1 Pick

;) Bloom is a good talent and this is a big blow to the Eagles special teams for this year. The guy is fast, quick, and fearless... what more could you want in a returner? Probably no fantasy impact unless you play in a league that gives points for return yards. But this is the time of the year for injury threads nonetheless.

I think he'd get back into football shape a lot faster if his hamstring wasn't torn. :D

At least the eagles still have my boy chris gocong. That guy is a pure baller I tell ya. He kicked some major butt here at Cal Poly.

I don't have anything wrong with Jeremy Bloom, his efforts, his performance as an Olympian, his performance as an NCAA Div 1 athlete. Seems to me he's talented, a good guy, good looking, smart and rich so people are just dying to hate on him.

Now football wise, if he really tore his hamstring it could be a major setback for his career, not just this year, because of how much he relies on his speed.
