Edge overvalued?

Recommended Posts

Fox Sports has a ranking of the best and worst OLs and Arizona finished dead last, which kind of makes me hesitent on picking Edge. here's the link .... http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5794000

By the way, as far as free FF sites go, take a look at Fox Sports. I used to use Yahoo because it's free ... live scoring is $10 each. But I just switched to Fox Sports ... much more options available (multiple bonues levels etc) and get this ... FREE live scoring!

FoxSports.com blows. I've never really agreed with a lot of their rankings and liken them to SI.com. Zona's o-line is pretty bad, but can it be worse than the Texans? Don't complete your analysis by just using that one site.

Offensive line rankings are built off of what took place. The Cardinals were absolutely atrocious running the football, ranking among the worst in history. This will hurt an o-line's reputation.

Now, to be certain, they aren't all that great. But their young passer seemed to have plenty of time to complete passes, so that offensive line can't be completely to blame for the complete and utter lack of a running game. Maybe they all pass block well, but can't run block. If that's the case, Edge should still do well, because they can set up screens, draws, and traps, and at least work within the skill set of the O-line.

Perhaps, just maybe, the RBs in Arizona last year sucked out loud.

Edge won't have Indy-like production, but with that passing game, his ability to catch and run, block, and his own ability, he'll be fine. :first:

yeah, they had some kind of weird formula to come up with the rankings and i don't necessarily agree that Arizona is the worst, but they're definitley in the lower end of the spectrum. Using a mid 1st rounder on a guy who'll be running behind a suspect OL isn't necessarily FF suicide, but it should at least make a person hesitate for a second or two. Even if they're not as bad as Fox Sports makes them out to be, you know it'll be tough for Edge in goaline when the DEF goes 8 in the box.
