Signed 1st round rookies

Can someone list the first rounders that have been signed already? Or who hasn't been signed that might make a impact this season.

I think I just heard ESPN report that the only offensive players drafted in the 1st round, and still unsigned by their team, were Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart and Joseph Addai.

I'm not sure about the defensive players (I know Broderick Bunkley hasn't signed yet  ), or if any 2nd-7th round players are still unsigned (I don't think any are though), but I think they're the only big name offensive players left unsigned.

The Saints have an offer out to Reggie Bush. One is a 5 year proposal and one is a 6 year deal. I forget the details, but I think both include incentives that would make Bush's deal worth more than $54 million dollars if he hits them. The Saints are waiting to hear back from Bush and his agent.

Has S Holmes and D Williams signed yet?

Yup.

Carolina struck a five-year deal with tailback DeAngelo Williams late Thursday night. The deal included $5 million in guaranteed money and ultimately could pay him more than $9 million if he reaches certain incentives

and

Santonio Holmes, the No. 25 pick, reached terms on a five-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, a deal that apparently does not include added contract language protecting them against additional off-field problems.

Leinart and Bush could take a while. I'm suprised Indy hasnt come to terms with Addai yet.

It sounds like the Saints have made a pretty good offer to Bush. If he turns it down I don't think it would be because of the amount offered, but rather what he needs to do to trigger incentives within the deal. ESPN reported the offer could exceed $54 million dollars if Bush hits the incentives within the deal. They didn't say what they were though.

Now that Maroney has signed, one would think there's a good bar to base Addai's contract off of. I'd imagine he'd be signed pretty soon.

I have no idea about Leinart. Jay Cutler was selected one pick after Leinart, plays the same positon and has signed already. I wonder how much more money Leinart will end up getting than him. Especially after the deal Vince Young got.

July 20

"The Cardinals will begin contract talks with Matt Leinart next week."

Leinart's agent is Tom Condon. It's likely Condon will look to get more money than an average No. 10 pick because his client is a quarterback.

I was surprised to see Cutler got a $48 million dollar deal. Leinart might as well push for that $54 million mark that all the other top guys are aiming for.
