Holmgren concerned about DJAX Knee

Recommended Posts

(On Jackson’s recovery…) “It is a little concerning since he had the surgery a long time ago and for the numbers typically on that type of surgery it should be a little farther along. It is a little too early to get major concern over it, but I am hopeful he will be able to come back and practice here pretty quickly.”

Thats Karma for him pushing off in the endzone. Actually hope he is ready to rock n roll since I have him in one of my keeper leagues.

That's only a push off in the Steeler patty cake NFL.

Not good news at all. I had knee surgery about 3 months ago and after about 3 weekks, doc kept saying it was a little behind schedule. Then it was a little further behind. Now I have to get it re-scoped.

Well, what kind of knee surgery? Jackson had arthroscopic knee surgery to clean cartilage out right? Please correct me if I am wrong. I had the same surgery last year and he should have been fine no later than 6 weeks after surgery. I had a setback, and I was playing softball in 5 weeks.

If his discomfort extends into the regular season, this could certainly catapult Nate Burleson up the rankings.

Guest Johnny Holmes

I need that Negro to stay healthy this year, I have had him on my keeper team for three years and now is his time to come through.

Hopefully it is just normal soreness after surgery. Get healthy soon DJAX!

I've been saying he's way too high in people's preseason rankings...fragility is something to be considered.

And really, in 2004 he was my 9th round pick, and played like a 3rd round pick. Then in 2005 he was someone in my league's 4th round pick and he played like a...well he hardly played. Now it's 2006 and somehow he's going between the late 3rd/early 4th rounds? Seems kinda high...must be based on his post season performances last year.

He reminds me a lot of Deion Branch....shows flashes of brilliance in the playoffs, gets taken too high in fantasy drafts, becomes a bust until it's too late to help you, then blows up in the post season.

:D

in 5 out of his 6 games last year, he either went for 100 yards or a TD. in consistency rankings for last year, he was the #1 receiver in the league, which means you can count on him for at least 10 to 15 points a game. that is why people have him ranked so highly. when he played, he performed more consistently than anyone else. if his knee turns out to not be a problem, he's a top 10 WR.

that being said, i'm not touching him until the 5th round with his knee. watch his knee in camp, if it is solid, he's solid.

in ppr leagues, he scored 18, 21, 20, 18, 19, and 6 points.

Had arthroscopic to clean out a mass of scar tissue. I was progressing so well that I was playing softball 8 days later. The only problem is, it just didn't improve much beyond that. New scar tissue has formed behind the kneecap. Flexibility isn't there, still painful, real "clicky" etc. Not saying it's the same situation as D-Jax, but any time you get arthroscopic surgery and you're not back to normal after a couple months, you're going to have to get it done again.
